Politicians should have a duty of care to young people. Our actions today shape the world they inherit.
Tomorrow, I will introduce my first private senator's bill - the Duty of Care Bill.

@ErskineKristen They used to run Breakfast Club at my old public high school and play games where you could win tickets to their “concerts”… having gone to an SDA primary and high school previously, I always steered clear.
@tonyvaneyk @AustGovernment Happened to me too when I applied for my passport back in ‘09. Thank god my parents are hoarders & kept their Sri Lankan passports from 1986 which had their family migration visa (aka Crappy piece of paper stuck in with a glue stick) which proved the legitimacy of my citizenship.
Hey @AlboMP and @billshortenmp, I appreciate the grand gesture of a NEW #myGov app… but could you please sort out basic things first; like call wait times for Services Australia. Thanks, from a tired new mum. 😴😣
@StephenKing They banned Harry Potter Books at my school when I was growing up… we had a nifty black market to smuggle them around just outside of the school gates 😉
I can't begin to imagine the hurt, the horror, that first nations people are experiencing right now.
I'm so sorry, so deeply uncomfortable with the collective silence about this in the media & on our timelines.
#JusticeForCassius starts with not looking away, not being quiet.
@sim1I@nicjhig@abc730 Accessible to those who are technologically literate… but for those who have been left behind in the digital era (the elderly, low socioeconomic backgrounds - i.e. people most afflicted by complex medical needs and would be any easy target).
Looking for a barrister prepared to work pro-bono to challenge the Victorian State Government on the removal of masking from public transport as it removes safe access to health care and support services for many vulnerable and disabled people. Please retweet. @VictorianCHO
@ingridsvendsen@Qantas Yup happened to me on a Qantas flight back home from Cairns… except I was 13 weeks pregnant and not wanting to risk salmonella from the chicken honey mustard panini they were doling out 🤯
When your not-entirely-tech-savvy parents reach out to @Optus about the #databreach but they won’t help because they can’t verify my dad’s account b/c surrendered his license years ago and doesn’t have it anymore…& won’t accept the last scanned image we have of it 🤯🤦🏾♀️
@DeathCab4Callie Me too Callie… and I ended up with a PhD in both Medicinal Chemistry & Molecular Pharmacology. Doesn’t define you one bit. It just took a bit longer for it to all “click”.
@NickHaggarty Being sick in my childhood meant sitting/ sleeping in whichever driver’s cabin (complete with activities, snacks and a drink bottle) that my mother wasn’t occupying as she completed her 8 hr shift as a tram driver.
