866 million people fall sick & 1.5 million die every year! According to @WHO’s latest report, annual the economic cost is US$310 billion in lost productivity.
That’s why I welcome #Maharashtra FDA’s enforcement drive. From suspending licences over serious hygiene violations, to mandating calorie & allergen disclosures, to acting against blood banks that failed to meet safety standards, the message is clear: public health can no longer be compromised.
The next step is greater transparency. Maharashtra can set a national benchmark by publishing inspection reports & compliance scores, creating a public digital dashboard, providing a time-bound window for corrective action, conducting swift re-inspections & restoring licences promptly once deficiencies are rectified & independently verified.
The objective is not to shut businesses but to ensure they operate safely, transparently & responsibly.
#WATCH | Mumbai, Maharashtra: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam says, "... I am here regarding the milk traders and small-scale dairy operators in Mumbai. The FDA's ongoing campaign against adulterated milk has created a major crisis for them. They are being told that only milk sourced directly from cattle sheds can be sold in plastic pouches, while milk arriving via tankers must be packaged before sale... However, our position is that if this requirement is insisted upon, it can certainly be met—provided we are given some time for compliance, which is currently not being granted... The way this entire action is being carried out is hazardous, and we oppose it. While we respect the underlying intent, those subject to these regulations must be given adequate time to comply... If their business is ruined, the milk supply to households could be jeopardised; furthermore, if excessive pressure is put on them, the price of their milk will rise, directly affecting the common citizen..."
Free power. MSP. No income tax. Low interest loans. Subsidised seeds and fertilisers. Annadata is the most ridiculous term to be used for Indian farmers.
This was the crowd on Tahir Hussain’s building terrace on 25 Feb 2020
Ankit Sharma went missing on evening of 25 Feb
His heavily mutilated body was fished out the next day from a clogged drain on the right side of Hussain’s building
I visited the site the same day - locals were sure that he had been kidnapped and dragged inside this building and lynched
Tahir Hussain and four others have now been convicted of murdering him “because he was Hindu”
We have reached an agreement with Beşiktaş for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard.
We will provide a further update once the transfer has been completed.
Just a day ago, Lindsey Graham announced in Kyiv that he had reached an agreement with Trump to pass the Russia sanctions bill that would make it possible for Trump to impose sanctions on third-countries buying Russian oil:
GRAHAM:
“We've reached an agreement with the White House on a version of the Russian sanctions bill that they will support. It means it's going to become law.
So, when I get back to Washington, I'm going to go with Senator Blumenthal to the Republican and Democratic leaders to see if we can find time to move this Russian sanctions package that would give tools to President Trump to help end this war.
There are some things we can do on the technology front to build on the lethality of Ukraine to protect itself from ballistic missile attack.
If we did that, combined with creating tools to punish those countries that prop up Putin and make money off this war, then I think we've got the best chance since I've been coming here in the last five years to get Putin to the peace table”
Seeing “Arsenal fans” who have built a platform off disrespecting Odegaard clutching at straws to explain why this performance isn’t impressive has been so hilarious
Torn on that one. Don’t like that embolo dives but I think it’s kind of bs that var can retrospectively give a player a second yellow in that instance but not others.
