@drvolland @AKNewsNow Hopefully this will encourage people to quit riding on the sidewalks downtown where they're not supposed to. I'm tired of almost getting run down by cyclists who don't know the laws or care that there are pedestrians.
@UrbaniteAlaska My aunt read the book Four Fares to Juneau when she was a kid and decided that she would one day live in Juneau, Alaska. She made it happen, then brought all her siblings after her (she's the oldest). That's how most of my cousins and all my siblings and I were born here ☺️
@drvolland @ANC_Historian@bawdofcacophony sitting right there and no traffic stops are made. It's been this way for the 20+ years I've lived in Fairview now. It's a nice gesture but meaningless if APD won't enforce it.
@drvolland @ANC_Historian@bawdofcacophony I still wonder if it would be enforced or drivers would bother to learn the new pattern. At 15th and Cordova where 3 of the four directions have no turn on red signs people do it all the time, often pulling into the bike lane to turn. Worse I have watched people do it with APD
@akchato program. A couple years later with insurance and persistence I found two great therapists and a psychiatrist and it helped so much. I am wishing you the same peace and healing on your journey <3
@akchato I'm so sorry <3 our system leaves so much to be desired. When I was going through the hardest most traumatic time of my life I couldn't access therapy because the waiting lists were too long for the places that would take uninsured patients and I was too complex for the UAA
@GrowingJohnsons Add to that the difficulties since the pandemic began, I wouldn't buy a 2020 or later car, maybe in a few years the quality will recover but for now I am reading about way too many chip failures and recalls to trust them. I'll keep my last 'new' car as long as I can thanks!
@AbortionChat One of the first sentences my daughter could say was "May I please pet your dog", and she knew not to reach for or approach said dog without asking and getting permission first. 3 is plenty old enough to do better.
@AprilDamen @intrinsiccity @WhileWfh While completely ignoring the no turn on red signs! If I am driving south on Cordova I always make sure I am far enough over to keep cars from pulling to the right of me into the bike lane. It's ridiculous!
@jsbeyea @yeaitsyourmom I mean, tbf I don't think schools have ever been consistent in teaching kids how to count change. I started cashiering in '97 and it was hit and miss even then.
@RandomSecretary@shala_beads@MsKrispanis @RussGreyComedy @_celia_bedelia_ How is pointing out when even 'allies' are being unintentionally exclusive letting someone like Russell off the hook? Right now it looks like you are the one feeding his agenda.
@WhileWfh@MOA_SWS I used to live in that building in your third picture, 320 E 15th Ave. There was a little structure where that silver car is for the trash cans. But I guess they can't be picked up by automation if they are tucked in there, no more 2 man crews with one picking up and one driving.
I moved into a campus apartment to start my Ph.D. @uofcincy on August 12th as a Yates Fellow. (@GradCollegeUC)
Since that day, I haven’t been able to comfortably live in my apartment because the *accessible* apartment I have is in an inaccessible building.
Yes, seriously.
