@Dschnoeb I think MOST of what we’ve seen is black/white. And that’s unfortunate, because that’s not where the most productive discussions & changes happen. But it is where most of us are most comfortable & what’s easiest to tweet & make memes about.
@Dschnoeb I’ve been worried as #MeToo took off that the emphasis too easily becomes protecting women instead of empowering them. This story brought those concerns to forefront, but admit I’m glad to see the discussions on agency & mutual respect I felt were missing/downplayed before.
I went to the New York county clerk’s website and found this filing. It includes the entire manuscript with allllllll the editor’s comments as exhibit B. https://t.co/fb9yptldbO
Actually, no. When the Holy Family flees to Egypt, they meet the current definition of refugees: those fleeing "conflict or persecution." And the word the angel uses in Joseph's dream in Matthew (2:13) is "φεῦγε" (pheuge), from which comes the word "refugee," the one who flees. https://t.co/BUBUqoaxxZ
It took me a long time to understand how systems inflict pain and hardship in people's lives and to learn that being kind in an unjust system is not enough.
Dear Republicans in Congress, Please don't mess with The Affordable Care Act as part of your tax plan. People need health care. We all get old, and sick, unless we get shot dead, which is another thing I wanted to talk to you about.
