An island nation like Scotland must have a thriving commercial shipbuilding industry.

The SNP gave away a £150 million contract for 7 small ferries to Remontowa in Poland last year, and is now stalling on directly awarding a 4 vessel contract to Ferguson Marine first announced four months ago, putting hundreds of shipbuilding jobs at risk as the shipyard runs out of work soon.

For a nationalist party, they have a poor understanding of the national interest.

More than 3 in 4 women in Scotland attended breast screening between 2020 and 2023, but uptake falls to just 64.2% in our most deprived communities.

These inequalities cost lives. Screening must be accessible, innovative and available in local communities.

Pleased to see the planning application to turn Alexandra Court Care Home into temporary accommodation has been refused.

This is a positive result and one that reflects the clear views of our local community.

Next, the focus must be on bringing Alexandra Court back into use as a care home, providing services the area desperately needs.
