Getting back on the pitch today also means getting another chance to wear my tribute to Siobhan. Especially during the world cup which I know she'd have been tearing up the pitch at #RememberSiobhan
To ignore repetitive brain injuries and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and solely place mental health at the centre of this discussion, does not acknowledge or honour those who have passed too suddenly and too soon with a degenerative brain disease. 🧠🏉😡😢
Footy star reveals the horror impacts of concussion at just 33: 'I haven't slept without assistance for three years' 😞😢😡🙏❤️🏉🧠 @WorldRugby https://t.co/n7njoAK7QU
I appreciate the opportunity to raise public awareness about CTE. Those of us who know at first hand the devastation it causes are committed to safeguarding all players.
Had these protocols been in place our beautiful daughter would be here. We could have hid under the covers & allowed our grief to destroy us but we are Siobhan's proud parents. This is the legacy she leaves behind, a safer future for all who participate in sports #remembersiobhan
Breaking News:
Scotland will become one of the first countries in the world to acknowledge women may be at higher risk of concussion - with a requirement for a longer period of recovery.

@AndrewW93733842@AlixPopham@WorldRugby We're shortly meeting @scotgov let's see if they'll blindly follow the 'see no evil' mantra or actually listen, acknowledge & make changes equalling safer contact sports for all. We will see. Anything less is an insult to those who've avoidably lost their lives & those suffering
no different. Please take part - the cup and plate alone are stunning - or come along to cheer the girls on and raise funds in memory of our beautiful girl #remembersiobhan💜 #SC8#Shibby#Shib#bleedgreen💚
It’s 2024.
Yet…
🧠Elite players can still return 7 days after a diagnosed concussion
🤕High speed head collisions aren’t resulting in precautionary removals
🔄1/10 HIA fails are overturned allowing players back on the field
🟥Unions want lesser sanctions for head contact
Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your experience after rugby @ShaneAChristie. @ConcussionLF is excited to help you and all NZ athletes fighting #concussions and concerned about #CTE after Billy Guyton's diagnosis.
Finally back on the pitch with @InverleithRugby today away to Gala YM. Another fantastic chance to get to pay tribute to Siobhan and her legacy, especially since the women's 6 nations kicks off today which I know she would have been tearing up 💪 #remembersiobhan
