戴笠被扣在地下室内两 日，整天面壁，不见阳光，消息不灵，度日如年。他估计自己此番必死无疑，于是写下遗言：“自昨日下午到此即被监视，默察情形离死不远，来此殉难，固志所愿也，惟未见领袖，死不甘心。领袖蒙难后十二日，戴笠于西安张寓地下室。”
