New research shows 1.7 million people could be living with dementia in England and Wales by 2040. That’s over 40% more than previously thought.
This is a stark reminder that, without action, the individual and economic devastation caused by dementia shows no sign of stopping.
I love this Dara. We get a lot of questions about how we involve people with dementia, carers and other partners in co-designing our services. This is a lovely example.
My favourite street art in Helsinki. Newly returned to social media after a long break following a trauma. I find spats & mean words stressful, the world has enough sadness. I might not always have happy things to say but I can always be kind x
A great achievement for @APPGDementia@AlzSocCampaigns and the 2,000+voices of lived experience who, together, detail the variation in diagnosis rates in England. The report also includes a comprehensive set of evidence informed recommendations - we need action now. 👇🏻
@KateLeeCEO@alzheimerssoc It's brilliant that Alzheimer's Society provides opportunities for young people to be nurtured and guided in the first steps of their careers! As a mum of 2 teenagers who are feeling worried about making career choices, it's a joy to show them how valued out young staff are!

It’s common knowledge that Alois Alzheimer gave his name to Alzheimer’s disease. But few people know about the African scientist who worked alongside him. Or of the challenges Black people with dementia face now. #BlackHistoryMonth https://t.co/1PftlOJSgU
In shock to hear that Tony Husband has passed away from a heart attack 😢 he's done phenomenal work to raise awareness of #Dementia, and we were incredibly excited to welcome him to Liverpool next week. Very sad news 😞
