why proofreading matters: you catch the mistakes your tired brain made yesterday afternoon, like translating "brújula" as witch (bruja) rather than its actual meaning (compass)... makes the sentence more amusing but not what the author was going for at all! #atleastitsfriday
A couple of days late but managed to finish Convenience Store Woman yesterday, which I started reading for #womenintranslation month. Such a great book! If I weren’t pregnant and unable to stay awake past 10pm, I wouldn’t have put it down until I’d finished! #xl8

planning my trip to #FHDay2018, after just arriving back from a (much needed) week off in Italy on Sunday, and trying to squeeze some actual work in between! Looking forward to a day of all things freelance :) https://t.co/ZutAvqPCdR
enjoying the irony of translating a sentence about using simple language in the middle of a document with a longest sentence length (so far) of 155 words that often has quite flowery and repetitive language for no reason... #xl8#shortersentencesplease
have spent most of today learning about and translating texts dealing with traditional Mallorcan dishes and the pork manufacturing process #lovemyjob#xl8
@Katie24Ward@TransferWise I recently opened one because I was sick of being charged for receiving payments every time (and the exchange rate wasn't great). It's early days and I've only received a couple of payments through it yet, but I'd recommend it so far because it avoids/reduces both of those :)
more snow forecast for later and we've run out of proper coffee! The flavoured coffee we got for Christmas will have to get me through today's work! #coffee#xl8#sendhelp
