@TotalTrafficAUS I just witnessed this. The driver that was rear ended by a semi looked like she was in extreme distress and someone looked in the back and yelled to call the police. Really hoping no one was hurt in the backseat and the driver / everyone is ok. 🥺
Did I just call you out 👀
We all have our ideal times of working out but if that time doesn’t happen… you can still work out 😏
Here’s your sign to make it happen. No matter what time it is. No matter how messy the house is.
Because after your workout you’ll feel better, more energized, happier, AND you’ll be able to better take care of the rest of the things in your life ❤️
You can’t pour from an empty cup
You got this 💪💕

Do you (or did you) feel pressured to get back to your usual workouts immediately post baby?
(Tag or share this with a new or expecting mama 🤰🥰)
Let me tell you, YOU WILL GET THERE!! 💕 but give it time
I’ve gotten so many DMs from women saying how defeated they felt post-baby, how they assumed they’d be right back to their workouts as usual
and when they weren’t, they felt like something was wrong
EVEN IF you worked out your entire pregnancy, it’s so normal to need to ease back into things and in fact, it’s SO BENEFICIAL to take a step back and really focus on reconnecting with your inner core muscles, first
This doesn’t mean you can’t get back to lifting for months and months, not at all. And everyone’s body is different!
But everyone’s labor and delivery and recovery is different too, which is something you can’t predict and will have a huge impact on how quickly and at what intensity you can return to fitness
At the end of the day, don’t compare your postpartum journey to anyone else’s, PLEASE 🩷 move your body and listen to your body, and you’ll be back to crushing your killer workouts (and be much better connected to your inner core) before you know it 💪🥰

THIS IS IMPORTANT ‼️
Do you know someone who is pregnant or postpartum? If so, tag them!
Pelvic Floor PT is so important YES especially after having a baby, but did you know - you don’t need to have given birth to benefit from pelvic floor PT, and even men can benefit from it?
But since I did just have a baby, here’s what my appointment looked like ☺️🤰
Big shoutout to my PT @ladybirdpt for letting me film and share this with you all! 🙌 give them a follow to learn about all the ways pelvic floor PT can help you!
If you don’t have access to pelvic floor PT, I do have a postpartum program in my @fitbodyapp called Restore Your Core that can at least help repair diastasis recti and is where I recommend ALL my postpartum mamas start when beginning their return to fitness (link is in my bio to try it free for 7 days!)
But for pelvic floor weakness or pelvic floor tension and issues that can arise from either of those things (like incontinence, prolapse, constipation, sciatic pain, pain during intercourse, and SO much more) you really need hands on manual therapy from a Pelvic Floor PT or OT. You will likely need to ask your OB for a referral.
Since having baby #1 and speaking about the importance of pelvic floor PT (3 years now) I’ve received several DMs from women saying they went to pelvic floor PT because of me talking about it, and that it has changed their lives 🥺
It’s SO amazing to hear but also frustrating that this isn’t standard postpartum care at the moment, so PLEASE don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself!! ❤️

STOP THE SCROLL
Raise your hand if you practice diaphragm breathing and TVA engagement before each workout..? 🙋♀️
And if you don’t… now’s the time to start 😉 and here’s why
This literally is the most important movement pattern to learn how to do. Because if you can’t engage your inner core muscles here, laying on the ground or on hands and knees, how are you going to do it when squatting, lifting, and moving about daily life?!
If you master engaging your TVA (transverse abdominals) and are able to do so in each exercise and each workout… did you know you may not even need to do isolated core exercises? 👀
Need help on learning how to do this properly? I have the full video explanation (and my entire Restore Your Core postpartum program) in my @fitbodyapp in the On Demand section.
Link is in my bio to start your free trial so you can check it out and join me! Perfect timing with our summer promo, too! 💕💪

"There's a new trend of fitness advice going around where people are claiming that doing cardio before weights is best for fat loss goals, and doing cardio after weights is better for strength goals. This is false." — @annavictoriafit https://t.co/d0GZa4fCWt
Stretching for 5 mins a day is 30 hrs of stretching a year. Saving $20/week saves $1,040/year. Complimenting someone every day brightens 365 peoples lives. Being 1% more committed to a healthy lifestyle every day is 37% more committed by the end of the year. Small changes add up.
Allow yourself wiggle room and space to struggle because there’s a lesson in each struggle. Apply that lesson to how you can be better prepared for next time and your dedication is what’s going to guarantee that struggle doesn’t turn into failure.
