As Australia’s largest producer of potatoes, we’re happy about the inaugural International Day of Potato. 🥔
Given our crops account for almost 30% of the country’s potatoes, it makes sense Adelaide is hosting the 12th World Potato Congress next month. https://t.co/VaszaiwC2J
As we celebrate first the day of the potato 30/05/02024 I give you this video (best watched without sound😆) of seed potato pieces (dusted with lime) being deposited into the box that will take them to be planted
@ramsaybaa Bestthe best we’ve had from Ivory is about 75 tonnes/Ha (only had 3.4Ha though) this is initially looking like about 66 but still early days. Last year was only 20 so should go much better than that!🥔🥔🥔💗
The Double-L windrower does a pretty good job of removing tops and weeds from the spuds that are put in between the 2 rows that the harvester will dig.
Because of the HUGE tyres on the Lockwood harvester we have to windrow 4 rows either side of the 2 the harvester will pick up to properly open the circle up.
So I guess I was too optimistic yesterday. It’s 40°C and the pivot didn’t go round. No water to keep cool today. However new gear box on a wheel of the middle tower is on and all set to go. Fortunately we could walk it back to the track. 🥵☀️
