@MaryanneSL4 @okcguy36 @MaryLTrump My dad was 62 when he had an illness that stopped his pancreatic function. He became a Type 1 diabetic. Also, I sincerely hope you know that you can't "outgrow" type 1, so every juvenile diabetic type 1 becomes an adult with type 1. Being type 1 or type 2 doesn't change cost.

@JackieJanes8 @TristanSnell I don't have free or low cost insurance, but thankfully I do have insurance coverage through my workplace. It costs me $75 a month for Humalog for my T1D son, but over $300 per month for all his supplies and almost $1200 per month for my Healthcare plan

@maspchalmers My oldest was that way. A lot of his reluctance was because of all the things he had to remember and control. We took it very slowly and had him take private driving lessons and that got him the confidence he needed to get his license.
