I’ve just joined the other place (@annafbd)… can’t quite bring myself to close this account completely, but won’t be posting or logging in here anymore.
@LNER can I use my super off peak single ticket (originally with a reservation on an LNER service) on Grand Central instead? Or are the super off peak tickets tied to a specific operator?
@LNER got a text at 6.00 to say the 10.00 York to Kings Cross was cancelled, so I went back to bed and decided to travel later but it looks to be reinstated. Can’t get to York for 10 now… I assume I can still travel on a later train even though I had an advanced ticket?
Very excited to share that from 1st Feb (yes, Saturday) I will be the Head of Creative Technologies in School of Arts & Creative Technologies at University of York. Not quite what I had planned for 2025 a fortnight ago, but very much looking forward to it all the same 🎉
@LNER I’ve got an advanced single booked on a service from York to London tomorrow evening. Can I get an earlier train? Or do I have to stick with my booked one?
@DrHannahBelcher It took 6 months from referral for me to be seen by IAPT. When I finally was, I had 3 sessions and was declared too ill & discharged with urgent referral to crisis team. If I’d been seen by IAPT when first referred, it may have all been very different.
@LNER just got a text to say the 12.33 departure from York to LKX is delayed, but can’t see any info on the website. Can you give any more info? How long is it delayed for?
@DPhilipJones Thanks! It’s not a huge amount, but hopefully enough to get the ball rolling 😊 and a chat would be great - would love to hear what you’re doing, will DM you!
Beyond thrilled that my project to develop an Anti-Ableist Research Methods Toolkit has been funded. We will be running surveys, interviews and co-creation workshops with disabled people and researchers. Next semester has gone from very busy to ridiculously busy, but I’m excited!
@LizzieSwarbrick We can give people “research affiliate” status for a year (and they can reapply when that ends) - basically they keep their email and access to library resources and a profile on our website. I think it’s a really positive approach that should be applied more broadly!
We wonder why the employment rate for blind people is so low, and then I read tweets about Chris on strictly saying he's amazing because can you imagine walking across a room with your eyes closed, and I have the answer. People really think so little of our lives.
@UniOfYork Will it still be possible to park in Kimberlow Lane car park? Or is that going to be closed too? The Field Lane car park is always full before 9am…
