To be clear: I feel quite fortunate on this front (husband asked how he could help today) but even we are not perfect at this....I suspect that is the case for many otherwise even partnerships and think worth attention.
Working👩💻vs. 🧑🏻💻family organization responsibility is so exaggerated on holidays, even for otherwise very equal partnerships. If this rings true, #heforshe tip: check in with your partner min 1 week prior about plans for w/ meals, decorations, activities, gifts. @ebmalinzakMD
Today, had the immense satisfaction of seeing a trainee (we shall call #3) show another trainee (#4) a technique I teach. He said he learned from “#2”, a former trainee of mine. And I’m sure I learned it from ? someone, making me trainee #1. 1->2->3->4->??
I was elated when I got my vaccine, but have never been prouder of @DukeMedSchool than today (of so many other proud moments). These “old” people from the community got their shot, with many others. #GoDuke
My almost 4 year old, helping sort presents, just told us that we needed to keep them apart so they don’t get coronavirus. Merry Christmas, 2020 edition.
@DukeAnesRes @Duke_Anesthesia To be accurate, it’s currently morning-dark here at Duke like most everywhere else in North America in Dec. Duke is magical in many ways, but does not have a special time zone as it looks in this photo ;)
If we needed any further proof that the stock market is out of touch with reality: this on the day the first vaccine doses were given in the US. Recipients crying with joy and relief.
@Edward_Deon_Ng Funny! Can’t help but think that this story would have a different punch line if you were a girl doctor ;) (or many possible different punch lines)
@ebmalinzakMD “Need” and Botox should never be in the same sentence. These lines tell other people I might know what I’m talking about sometimes (i.e. I have earned some wisdom). I like them.
