It was great to hear about the Althea McNish exhibition on Woman’s Hour this morning. It’s currently on at The Whitworth in Manchester and is well worth visiting.
Here’s the link to the programme.

I’m very proud and surprised to find a orchid growing in my window box. I’d been wondering what this plant was that appeared after the tulips had died down. Apparently it’s a Common Spotted Orchid. But it doesn’t look very common to me!
@LadybarnFriends @parks_great @WithingtonMcc @MCCBurnage@crispeater@becky_cham I have several saplings of hawthorn, oak, willow and birch trees. all self seeded in my garden. They are in pots and about 3 years old. Would you be interested in having them?

I stood on this red bridge at Fountains Abbey in August. Interesting bridge which enabled a lovely view up and down the river. A talk by Steve Massam would be great.
Happened to catch last days of These Passing Things at Studley Royal Water Garden and met the environmental artist, Steve Messam. His installations re-imagine the everyday interrupting historical landscapes. Art in the landscape…a future talk?@rougeit @fountainsabbey #artoutside
I visited The Whitworth last week and was thrilled to see the new benches one of which has been funded by the Friends of the Whitworth. I’m sitting on it here. I was waiting for a friend who was buying some of my greeting cards that are now on sale in the Whitworth shop!

This is urgent! The Government wants to impose a catastrophic 50% funding cut to arts subjects at higher education (HE) level in England. I've joined the @Public_Campaign for the Arts to tell @GavinWilliamson: arts education matters. Will you join too? https://t.co/YJZ66RiXyI
