A woman carefully places her grocery order, taking time to spell everything out, eggs in a separate bag, dairy nowhere near the meat. Simple, reasonable stuff. When the delivery arrives, her front-door camera beeps and she opens the app to watch. The delivery woman looks at the camera and starts complaining out loud: “You gave a lot of ridiculous instructions, and I didn’t like them.” Then, calmly, the homeowner speaks through the camera: “I’m watching you.” The delivery woman freezes, clearly startled, and suddenly starts backtracking with excuses. Moments like this make me laugh and cringe at the same time. Instructions exist for a reason, and cameras exist because trust isn’t guaranteed anymore. If you’re going to talk trash at the door… maybe assume someone’s actually listening. When customers clearly state instructions, is following them really optional?
