Farewell, Teasel — best friend and epic cat, stripy tigress, small-mammal slayer, Stedman impersonator, ridge walker, and forever fluffgrump. May you rest in peace, and rabbit again in glory
No Stedman today but ringing full of event - the clapper flew out of the 7 and caused an almighty crash, I unfortunately ruined Cambridge at two towers for our obliging visitors, yet finished the morning on a high with the most delicious post ringing cake ever!
@lauraparker68h1 So sorry! I have been silly busy at work at the moment and missed your message - congratulations on Level 5, that’s a brilliant achievement 🙌
Quietly pleased with this - I know I was just covering but it was my first quarter on real tower bells ringing towards the back 😊 I think Tony would have loved this line up! https://t.co/XDOlAamasL
Super fun practice night! Rang May Day, Bob Doubles, Bob Minor, a very nice touch of Stedman, I called three leads of Norwich and we rang several lots of rounds for our new learner’s debut appearance at practice 😀
@KWCook57 Yes - we normally have a tower outing each year. That’s usually just the day. There used to be a weekend outing but I think that must have fizzled out during COVID like so many other things 🙁
Belated Sunday Service ringing update! In Tower One I moved about and rang the 2,3,4,5 and 6 - In Tower Two I enjoyed treble bobbing to three leads of Norwich at battle speed - also two lots of Stedman, one in each tower - feeling doubly blessed ☀️
@KWCook57 No signs of decline in Norwich this morning - there were 16 ringers at the six bell tower - coffee was delayed so that everyone who turned up got to ring a couple of times 😊
Super practice night! Got to ring the 5 now the cobwebs are cleared away and it’s a lovely bell, rang April Day, and called a touch of Bob Doubles - however still can’t escape the feeling that we’re being watched …
Stedman Club at @mrdc1715.bsky.social was great at lunchtime - I wanted to practice singles in triples and was gifted a touch where I was affected in all three positions 🎉 Sadly, though, I didn’t get to cause chaos by calling my Q&S twice touch from the treble - next time🤞
On a reconnaissance trip for old age, involving:
- a visit to a National Trust property
- a cream tea (for elevenses - don’t judge)
- a scenic drive home followed by a short nap
A (mostly) successful spring Sunday Service ring: at Tower One I enjoyed the raise and the lower and some Grandsire on the back six - and at Tower Two I enjoyed EVERYTHING I rang in (Three leads of Norwich, all ladies band Cambridge, Stedman, and ringing down) 😊
Well 50% of my lunchtime’s attempts at Cambridge Surprise Major at @MRDC1715 were OK and 50% were utter carnage - it was *gently* suggested to me that I might benefit from learning better how to be ‘put right’ 😱
