Control the Senate, protect women's rights, protect LGBTQ+ rights, fund healthcare, get a living wage, regulate guns, and end corporate welfare. #resist
@TackandL@JoshEakle Even if it were that simple (it's very much not), I thought Trump was going to lower our grocery costs? This will absolutely, without debate, raise every American's for costs. Enjoy the MAGA tax on your groceries.
@StickyKeef @JoshEakle If US producers could have supplied these items cheaper, we wouldn't be importing them in the first place. The entire reason we buy things from other countries is because we CANNOT produce them in sufficient quantity or at low enough cost.
@ixbgrbm @thatguyaj94@Angry_Staffer I mean, everyone with a brain knew Trump would ruin the economy. It's just that the people who voted for Trump don't understand how any of it works so they voted for the guy who told them that their racism, sexism, and homophobia were ok.
@RedAlertFlorida @Angry_Staffer I do enjoy when MAGA admits that they are against the U.S. Constitution. It's a lovely (if terrifying) breath of truthfulness.
@buckfltrx@PrgmaticPolitic@leftcoastbabe@Angry_Staffer I wonder how much of that deficit they could fix if they weren't paying $5 in federal taxes to get $1 of federal aid? California's federal tax payments are supporting several broke red states.
@DegenPoetry@leftcoastbabe@Angry_Staffer Hahaha, California pays over $5 in federal taxes for every dollar of federal support it receives. You're thinking of New Mexico, West Virginia, Alaska, Mississippi, and Montana... (Hmmm what do those states have in common?)
@borealis_corey @realMM_576@Angry_Staffer I'll give you a solid maybe to mostly on that one. My reasoning:
- Receives 10s of billions in gov't funding (more gov't contract $ than anyone else, I believe)
2- Stated goal of colonizing Mars - who governs that colony?
3- Are we behind in space defense due to privatizing?
@borealis_corey @realMM_576@Angry_Staffer Just fine? Did you forget about that whole terrorist attack? I'm starting to think you're not debating in good faith...
Also:
Please show me any evidence of a corporation doing something better and cheaper than the government. Better? Sometimes. Cheaper? Sometimes. Both? Never
@borealis_corey @Angry_Staffer So you want the government to dictate how airlines handle their own security? In theory that could work, but it would greatly hinge on how specific and how well enforced the regulations are. It's still going to be passed on to consumers though - probably at greater than cost.
@borealis_corey @Angry_Staffer In this case, history shows that the options are: reasonably good security at a higher than ideal cost. OR Cheap, minimal security at a cost that is 100% (if not 200%) passed on to customers.
Would you drive a car produced with no gov't safety regulations?
@borealis_corey @Angry_Staffer Yeah, because corporations are known for cutting into their profits in order to help their customers (without being forced to by government regulation).
@Snakeriver123@Angry_Staffer Just to clarify, you are perfectly fine with the President of the United States not following the rule of law? How far does that go? Which laws are ok to not follow? Is it only the president who can ignore the law or can everyone?
@mobywv@RichardAngwin Hahaha, great talking point, but complete BS... The only time that might be true is for highly specialized doctors that people travel across the country to get appointments with. Massachusetts has several of the best hospitals in the US and 2 of the to 20 in the WORLD.
@will_harper@25thAmendTrump@Martina@morgfair So you're saying that over 65% of the country are Democrats? (The 30% that voted Harris plus the 36% that didn't vote)
I hope you're right.
@NachoQuixotic@Angry_Staffer Wait until they hear about Dihydrogen Monoxide... It's pumped into nearly everything we eat or drink and it kills thousands a year. Someone should ask RFK jr about it.

@WarObserver14@BravoKiloActual@AllanLichtman How many generations are required before someone can be considered "native"? How many generations must you be gone before you're not native? I have lineage in Ireland for many generations but my Irish line has been in America for 150ish years - Am I Native Irish?
