If he:
-Changes his entire look for you
-Travels 1,900 miles upstream to chase you
-Procreates and dies
-Replenishes an entire ecosystem with his carcass
He's not your valentine, he's a Chinook salmon
Sharp, vivid and powerful writing. But of course it is because @taaracries wrote it. ( seriously, I'm so lucky to know you and see your work in the world ❤️)
It's been almost a year(!) since the launch of @stmentalhealth, one of the first and largest metro newspaper teams committed to reporting on the mental health system. It went by so fast. We've been busy! 🧵...
I have terrible taste in music so make of this what you will: I was excited for ANGST with a new Panic! At the Disco album and it. is. so. happy. And that it makes me sad. #emokid4ever
Three-quarters of voters, in early tallies, do not want Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler returning to Congress.
But she looks like she'll squeak through.
She can thank a fractured field and Washington's top-two "jungle" primary.

@nickturner217@evergreenstone I think as much as that's his pet peeve, mine is journalists being so pedantic about this stuff. We're in a burning building but we're arguing about the color of the curtains.
@evergreenstone And you started the election day rant by dragging alerting to the endorsements instead of the voter guide, which we did many times (at risk of being annoying about it) & people are actually searching for endorsements bc they help them vote (even if they don't agree w them)
@evergreenstone I'm saying non-journalists don't care abt the distinction bc why would they? Like, you're suggesting saying "This is from the Seattle Times but it's from *that department* not *our department* so, like, y'all should get that nuance and interpret the info accordingly" is... silly.
@evergreenstone These are industry problems for the industry to solve. Putting more explainers out there and asking regular people to do more work to understand this incredibly convoluted system is naïve.
