Yesterday I gave a presentation to a group of high school seniors about my work with March For Our Lives. During this presentation, a young Republican initially seemed unconvinced by my viewpoints. However, as I articulated my stance and approach in greater depth, talking about being part of the shooting club in college, my emphasis on not just focusing on how someone gets a gun but also why they pull the trigger, focusing on what we can agree on and moving forward on that, his perspective changed. Afterwards, he approached me to express that he found himself surprisingly in agreement with my views.
