The security of Indian students at BSMU has severely deteriorated, with recent events highlighting a targeted or extremist threat.
•February 7, 2026 Attack: A 15-year-old assailant entered a sports hall within the foreign students’ dormitory and stabbed at least six people, including four Indian students.
•Suspicious Deaths: In November 2025, the body of Ajit Singh Chaudhary, an MBBS student at BSMU, was recovered from a dam near Ufa after he went missing from his hostel.
•Atmosphere of Fear: Students have reported instances of local “gangsters” entering hostels at 6:00 AM to intimidate them, throw out their belongings, and force them to sign expulsion papers.[youtube]
The Mass Expulsion Crisis
In 2025, BSMU became infamous for “cleaning house” by expelling hundreds of students to manage over-enrollment.
•Over-admission Scam: Fmgs Reports indicate the university admitted over 1,000 students in a single year far exceeding its capacity and then used minor attendance lapses as a pretext to expel 234 to 300 students. @NMC_BHARAT take action on it.
•Academic “Death Sentence”: Under National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines, these students cannot transfer to other institutions mid-course, effectively ending their medical careers and causing massive financial loss.
•Embassy Inaction: video posted by AFA in June 2025 showed the University Dean threatening students with expulsion while Indian Embassy representatives were present, yet no significant diplomatic intervention followed.
