@GameMinimalist Because there are plenty of sheep who listen to content creators whose entire life experience is making board game videos on YouTube. I’ve always found this to be so laughable when some dude gets all righteous and hasn’t done anything of real value in the world.
@Platitsco@BGBollocks@czechgames Empowering these people is the root of the problem. The rest of the country is figuring this out. The board game industry will eventually fall in line. I’d love to help lead that charge but we are surrounded by cowards so it isn’t worth the effort just yet.
@BGBollocks@czechgames This has been the way for years and has damaged our hobby and community. Until a publisher with some backbone stands up to these awful people, it will continue to fester. It’s a good part of why we walked away.
@gengelstein There is nothing more for them to do. Just publish the game and move on. Apologizing or back stepping because the same loud whiny group of people want to control the hobby is not a good business decision.
@RobCannon@czechgames We see this in real time now. Apologizing only hurts you. Publishers need to find a way to shut these folks down and give it back. It’s their livelihood that’s at stake.
@KarloManio@Edison_mm@czechgames If possible, I would see if there are any grounds for a lawsuit against these bad actors who actively defame a company or person. This will only continue until people are shown some consequences for their actions. Boycott those who call for boycotts. Especially content creators.
@UNCFanatik@Just_The_Games Who is “they” again and why does anyone care in the slightest? The best response is ignore and move on. Anyone who believes they have the right to tell anyone else what to sell or buy is a full blown narcissist.
@Just_The_Games If and when the boardgame community resets and becomes less hostile (need to see a few big cc’s move on or shut down) then maybe. And we would be a lot less filtered that’s for sure.
@BGBollocks That would be a travesty and an unfortunate turning point for CGE. Not sure why the industry continues to give influence to these narcissistic trolls.
@BGBollocks@czechgames Stay the course. Make a ton of money. Repeat. Don’t apologize and don’t back down. The little angry mob will eventually get bored and move on.
@Just_The_Games@czechgames Their blacklist is a joke. They act like they have any influence. Just ignore them and carry on. Nobody else cares. Seriously.
@ThysW89@czechgames That’s the “safe” path for designers now. That and mushrooms lol! They don’t want to piss off the 5% who don’t even buy games. And boycott HP? How well did that work on Hogwarts Legacy? 12 million units sold in 2 weeks. Companies need to stand their ground.
@cardboardhaven This virtue signaling BS is tiresome. They no longer have the influence they used to as demonstrated by their running away to BSKY or whatever that trash app is called. If we were still in it we’d happily fill the reviewer void. People need to grow up and go outside.
@BGBollocks I agree, however we noticed years ago and had no power or influence to stop it. It’s like we saw the iceberg and the crew on the Titanic insisted this was the way to make it better. And here we are.
@davidleavitt Do you even know what you are talking about at this point? I suggest reading up on this guy before you keep embarrassing yourself. Plenty of other things you could go on about and this ain’t it.
