Hey, Twitter! Come on out to Improv Karaoke this Friday and bring a friend! (or an enemy, frenemy, whatever as long as they come) https://t.co/TX9d4ERw4Z
Hey, poets! Lots of serious lit mags claim to enjoy humor, but are there any that would realistically consider a set of parody poems? Or is that sort of thing banished to humor-only publications?

God damn it, I just want to do my own thing and not worry about politics for a while, so could the fucking Republicans stop fucking everything up for just ONE FUCKING DAY?
"Some writers want to change the world. Thatโs terrific. We need those. But we also need silly authors, goofy ones, the kind that tell stories that make the world bearable until those serious authors can make it better." ~ Barlow Adams
One of my favorite flash fiction stories got shortlisted and rejected for the 5th time today. Don't worry, little fella - people like you. I'll find you a home soon!
A year ago, I quit my job at a window factory to build the life that I wanted, not work overtime for someone else. One trip around the sun later, I've think I've laid a solid foundation for my dreams. Now the real fun begins. ๐
I haven't done much reading or #writing in a while, but tonight I finally started "A Wizard of Earthsea." Fifty pages in, and I got hit with a burst of inspiration for a new story of my ownt. Thanks, Ursula! I know what I'm doing tomorrow!
@blakescribbles I'm always amazed when I read bios like yours - I didn't even start writing until my late 30s! I haven't attempted a novel (yet!), but I've published SF microfiction and a bunch of humor shorts. Good luck! Let no one genre contain you!
@KunkelTron Fun fact! Even vets don't necessarily get the pre-exposure rabies shot. A friend had to use gofundme to afford hers because her employer didn't want to pay for it for their vet techs. (Why yes, she has found another job since then. Wonder why?)
Feeling blue because I'm a social insect with no one to spend the holiday weekend with, but that also means I have three whole days to write. Time to wrangle some words. #amwriting
@johndloyd@fandsf@MWTiedemann Wow, blast from the past! I read "Sergeant Chip" in one of the Hartwell/Cramer "Year's Best SF" anthologies, and loved it. Instant classic.
I just had a story shortlisted by an amazing SF mag, and I popped onto Twitter excited to share the news - and now I'm so sick I just don't care anymore
