Replacing the generator rotor is not a small task, especially when it's done without prior preparations during an unscheduled outage.
The generator replacement outage at OL2 lasted 26 days and 20 hours. The work in the turbine hall was done in shifts with a crew of about 35 people. In addition, dozens of others were involved in tasks such as engineering, logistics, inspection, and cleaning.
The rotor replacement required 20 different types of tasks and 62 individual work phases. On top of this, 22 meticulous and time-consuming inspection stages were carried out.
The two large bridge cranes in the turbine hall, 95 tons/25 tons and 65 tons/15 tons, were in constant use throughout the maintenance. A total of five heavy lifts (85-95 tons) were performed, along with 15 medium lifts (20 tons). Countless smaller parts were moved as the work progressed.

The annual maintenance of Olkiluoto 3 will end according to the updated schedule on April 28th. The reason for the additional eight days is the new faults found during the maintenance and technical problems with inspection equipment.
