Indian space industry is witnessing two launch philosophies emerge.

Skyroot Aerospace with conventional solid motors backed by Raman-I the liquid (hypergolic) upper stage: very well established technologies in the country with decades worth of knowledge, giving them a quick no-nonsense start before moving on to fancier things like cryogenic engines with their Dhawan-II plans.

While Agnikul Cosmos has chosen a bolder and modular path with (3d-printed) semi-cryogenic engine right from the word go. And they proved it too in 2024 as Agnilet flew during SOrTeD demo mission, before ISRO's SE-2000. Not to mention Agnibaan is also very modular and customizable per customer's needs with mobile launch pedestal, Dhanush.

They both have a long-term goal of reusability too. Interesting times for India ahead as we get to live through the developments of both the companies right from the early days. Hopefully we also get to see updates of tests from other emerging companies too. Let's wish them the best. Per aspera ad astra 🇮🇳🤞
