Today, I am proud to officially launch my campaign website for State Representative in Michigan’s 9th House District - to represent Downtown, Midtown, Woodbridge, New Center, Corktown, Belle Isle, and the East Side!
I am running because Detroit deserves leadership that can bring people together, fight for affordable communities, protect voting rights, and get real results for working families.
I am the ONLY candidate in this race with experience serving in public office. As Chairman of the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission, I helped lead one of the most transparent redistricting processes in the country, defended fair maps under intense pressure, and protected the integrity of Michigan’s democracy.
I also bring years of experience in the nonprofit sector, working alongside residents, neighborhood organizations, service providers, and public officials to advance policies focused on housing, homelessness, community development, and economic opportunity. My background in science, public health, and research has shaped my commitment to evidence-based, data-driven solutions that improve people’s lives. My commitment to public service began at WSU where I served as Student Body President.
Too many of these issues got left on the House floor last term, and we need leaders in Lansing who know not only how to create good policy, but get it across the finish line. I believe I am that leader.
This campaign is rooted in a simple belief:
Out of Many, We Are One.
At a time when too many people are trying to divide us by neighborhood, race, background, or politics, I believe we are more powerful when we work together.
I hope you will visit the website, follow the campaign, and consider making a contribution to help us reach voters across House District 9. @VoteAnthonyEid

Let’s build this together.
Out of Many, We Are One.
I am proud to share that our campaign has earned the Voters Not Politicians Pro-Voter designation! The ONLY candidate in the HD-9 race to receive this designation.
This designation means a lot to me because my public service has been deeply connected to the democracy reforms VNP has championed for years.
VNP led the movement to end partisan gerrymandering in Michigan. They have also championed expanded voting access, government accountability, transparency, and the ongoing fight to protect the power of voters in our democracy. Currently, we are are fighting to get Money out of Michigan Politics (MMOP!)
This designation makes clear that voters in Detroit have a candidate with a real record of protecting voting rights, defending fair representation, and fighting to pass a Michigan Voting Rights Act. I will continue to fight for your right to vote, and be publicly available and accountable to the people.
FB saw this first, but It was great attending @motorcitypride last weekend! While some candidates talk about making change, others actually DO it. Make sure to vote Anthony Eid on August 4th.
Out of Many, we are One (1/2) @VoteAnthonyEid
Pope Leo XIV on war in Iran:
"I think this has already been made very clear: the notion of a just war no longer applies. The problem is that just war theory developed in centuries when no one could have imagined the weapons we have today or humanity's capacity for destruction."
Callais: We’re not changing the test for discriminatory intent claims.
AL district court: Okay, we find discriminatory intent.
SCOTUS tonight: You misread Callais. We’re reversing you.

This is a grassroots campaign rooted in neighborhoods, relationships, and service.
This weekend, our team joined neighbors in Woodbridge and North Corktown for Motor City Makeover, Detroit’s volunteer effort that brings residents together to care for our blocks, parks, schools, businesses, and places of worship.
For me, this campaign is not just about knocking doors or asking for votes. It is about showing up, listening, and doing the work alongside the people who make Detroit strong.
@northcorktown is also showing what community power looks like through its Community Land Trust work, which is helping preserve green space and create lasting affordability for future generations. That is the kind of neighborhood-led vision we should be supporting across Detroit.
Thank you to everyone who came out, gave their time, and showed what love for community looks like in action. This is how we build a stronger Detroit, block by block, neighbor by neighbor.

HUGE: Michiganders for Money Out of Politics turned in enough signatures today to get on November’s ballot.
This could be the most meaningful reform Michigan has seen in a generation.
No more letting corporations, lobbyists, and private interests buy a government that works against the people. 🧡🧡🧡
