📆 On this day, in 1994, Bryan Robson became Middlesbrough's 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥/𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗥 and was unveiled in the classic half suit, half shorts way.

Robson made a dream start to his managerial career as the club won the Division One title and were promoted to the Premier League in his first season.

Dave O’Connor is set to be appointed as Newcastle United's new Chief Revenue Officer, we will also be announcing a Chief Marketing Offocer in the coming days.

David Hopkinson on some of what he's planning at Newcastle United involving our two new management hires:

"We’ll be making two announcements in the coming days. A superstar, an international. He’s going to focus on our digital growth. We cannot achieve all that (2030) ambition on Newcastle’s local market opportunity. We’ve got to go global.”

“Our ambition is ultimately to be number one.”

“How are we going to do that? Frankly, money is the biggest piece of the equation. We have got to just generate more revenue, give ourselves a bigger envelope to work with. If we can execute superbly, there might be £100m in annual run rate revenue that could be unlocked. We are at about £400m [annual revenues]. That can become £500m, or stretch to £550m. We start to kick our way into that conversation. That is our ambition.”
