🚨 Urgent foster home needed.
A 13 week old German Shepherd mix puppy is recovering from parvovirus, and he urgently needs a safe, pet-free home where he can continue healing. Could you be the person who helps him get there?
This sweet little guy arrived at Toronto Animal Services as a stray and soon became very sick. Thanks to quick veterinary care, he is making great progress every day and is well on his way to recovery!
He's expected to need a foster home for approximately 1-2 months while he continues to heal. During this time, Toronto Animal Services will provide all veterinary care, medications, supplies, and ongoing support, so there is no cost to the foster caregiver.
Because parvovirus is contagious, there are some important requirements for his foster home:
🐾 No other pets can live in the home.
🐾 He cannot have contact with other dogs during his recovery.
🐾 No dogs should enter the home or yard for several months after his stay due to the virus's ability to survive in the environment.
🐾 Thorough cleaning and disinfection of affected areas will be required, and guidance will be provided.
In return, you'll be giving this resilient puppy exactly what he needs most: a safe, quiet place to recover, grow, and prepare for the bright future he deserves.
If you're able to help or would like to learn more about fostering him, please call the East Shelter at 416-338-PAWS (7297).
Your support could make all the difference for this little guy!
Kyle Lowry in 2017 on his free agency decision to come back to Toronto: “There was a lot going through my head, a lot of roads my mind was traveling down. Family, first and foremost, and what’s going to make them happy, and give them the best life. Basketball, of course, and where I’d like to play for these next several years. And then there was also the gut-check aspect — just what I was feeling in my heart.
But for me, at the end of the day, this was an easy decision. And all of those roads … they all led me back to the same place: home.
They all led me back to Toronto....
I’m coming back to Toronto because my heart is telling me that it’s home — and because staying home, for me and my family, feels like the right thing to do. My heart is telling me that this is the best city in the world, with the best basketball fans in the world. It’s telling me that the Raptors can be a championship-level team, sooner than later. And I’ll be honest (and don’t hate) — it’s telling me that I’ve still never had poutine.
But most of all: It’s telling me that, if you’re looking for people to believe in — choose the people who believed in you first.
And if you start something?
Man, you finish it.” https://t.co/DINJDRDXzT

IF WE LEARN ANYTHING ABOUT THESE HEATWAVES LET IT BE THAT WE NEED TO MAKE OUR CITIES GREENER. PLANT SOME FUCKING TREES. BUILD A PARK. WE NEED MORE GREEN SPACES.
Host: Folarin Balogun was born in New York, but he was only born in the U.S. because his mother was denied the ability to fly home after being in the U.S. on vacation. Trump is so fixated on getting rid of birthright citizenship, but he is fighting for this individual to play on the field for the U.S.
Just to be clear, then. FIFA:
1) can't possibly intervene when Iran are forced to move, a referee is denied a visa, or fans are barred from the USA
2) can absolutely intervene when a decision goes against the USA that Donald Trump doesn't like
Smashing. All know where we stand
We are learning in real time the horror show closing safe injection sites has caused!!! People ODing on sidewalks in parks, public. EMS calls are at 2056 right now and in the same time period last year they were 958!!!! There’s a reason why we listen to experts and not columnists
I don't mean this as some sort of gotcha for the OP, but really the entire World Cup should have been boycotted the moment the US prevented the Irani team from remaining in the country after every day. We are here precisely because no action was taken there.
To be clear: Whether it is or isn’t a red to Balogun is now irrelevant. Government interference is a violation of FIFA Article 2 & 15, and the punishment is disqualification and suspension. Nepal was suspended.
This is an admission of the violation.
