Been out on a litter pick this afternoon.
If you throw litter out of your car window, you are a prick. Simple as.
Rich or poor, left or right.
There’s nothing political about it.
No defence for it.
No “misunderstanding”.
Just deliberately shitting on the country we all live in.
There is a moment after every massacre of Jews – after the Holocaust, after October 7, and now after Bondi Beach – when the truth reveals itself. Not in the bloodshed, but in who rushes forward to explain it away.
After Jews were murdered at Bondi Beach for the crime of celebrating Hanukkah, that moment arrived almost immediately. Before the bodies were cold, Dale Vince asserted the real culprit was not the killers, but Israel. More precisely, he claimed that Benjamin Netanyahu "wants antisemitism to be a thing" and "acts to make it so."
That statement is not careless. Not clumsy. It is ideological. It performs a very old trick: Jews are attacked, therefore Jews caused it.
This was not offered as a policy argument after reflection. It was deployed immediately, in the aftermath of a massacre that left children dead. That timing matters. It tells you the purpose of the remark. Not to understand the crime, but to launder it morally. To move responsibility away from the men who pulled the trigger and onto the identity of the people they killed.
Vince's later clarification made matters worse. To claim that "the biggest single cause" of antisemitism today is Israel's war in Gaza is not analysis. It's collective blame. It tells Jews everywhere that they are fair game for hatred and violence because of actions taken by a foreign government they may not support and do not control. That is not how moral reasoning works in any other context. It is reserved for Jews alone.
Antisemitism did not begin with Netanyahu. It did not begin with Israel. It did not begin with Zionism. It existed long before any of them and has survived every explanation offered for it. To pretend otherwise is either wilful ignorance or deliberate deceit.
What makes this episode truly damning is not just what was said, but who said it. Dale Vince is not a fringe agitator shouting from the margins. He is a major donor to the Labour Party. His money buys access, respectability, and silence. When someone so embedded in the political class feels comfortable reframing a massacre of Jews as a consequence of Jewish behaviour, it tells you something is badly wrong with the culture that surrounds him.
This is how antisemitism now presents itself in polite society. Not as hatred, but as causation. Not "Jews are evil," but "Jews bring this on themselves." Not crude slurs, but moral narratives that make violence seem understandable, even logical. It is antisemitism with a vocabulary of compassion.
And it always runs in one direction. No other group is told that attacks on them are the fault of their government. No other diaspora is treated as a moral hostage to a foreign state. Only Jews are subjected to this permanent conditionality: behave as we demand, or accept the consequences.
That is why statements like Vince's matter. They do not merely comment on violence. They prepare the ground for it. They reassure the next murderer that his crime will be contextualised, explained, and quietly blamed on the victims.
If the Labour leadership wishes to be taken seriously when it claims to oppose antisemitism, this cannot be waved away as a misunderstanding or an unfortunate turn of phrase. It is a test. Silence here is not neutrality. It is acquiescence.
History is unambiguous on this point. When Jews are murdered and influential figures respond by blaming Jews, the problem is no longer extremism at the margins. It is moral collapse at the centre.
Dale Vince did not pull the trigger at Bondi Beach. But by shifting blame away from the killers and onto the identity of the dead, he played his part in the culture that makes such killings possible.
"What makes this episode truly damning is not just what was said, but who said it. Dale Vince is not a fringe agitator shouting from the margins. He is a major donor to the Labour Party. His money buys access, respectability, and silence."
Four people were wounded in Manchester today - one stabbed, three mown down by a car - outside a synagogue on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish year. The attacker was shot dead by police.
The attack is the result of years in which antisemitic rhetoric has been allowed to fester and grow unchecked - on our streets, in our schools, on our campuses, across social media, and from within politics itself. It is fed every weekend by pro-Palestinian marches that exude raw Jew-hate: chants of "From the river to the sea," cries of "Khaybar, Khaybar," placards likening Israel to Nazi Germany, and the relentless drumbeat that frames the Jewish state as a genocidal pariah. Words like these do not evaporate harmlessly. They embolden. They license hatred. They teach that Jews are fair game.
The danger today was so clear that police launched Operation Plato - Britain's emergency response to marauding terror attacks. That protocol isn't triggered lightly; it exists for the nightmare scenario of roaming killers on the hunt. Police feared Jews gathering to pray might be prey. That alone should shake this country to its core.
Yet while the immediate threat was contained, the climate that produced it was built over years by cowardice and indulgence. Instead of drawing a line between legitimate criticism of Israeli policy and the demonisation of an entire people, our political class blurred it beyond recognition. The casual use of the word genocide - repeated by left-wing MPs, echoed by ministers, amplified by media desperate for moral theatre - has consequences. If you tell the public over and over that Israel is exterminating people, do not feign surprise when men with knives and cars see Jews themselves as fitting enemies.
Adding fuel is the long courtship between the Left and Islam. This isn't conspiracy; it's political fact. Since the late 1990s, when the term "Islamophobia" was engineered and pushed into policy, a shield has silenced scrutiny of Islamist ideology by branding it bigotry. Under that cover came decades of looking away - from misogyny, grooming gangs, radical preaching, and now the antisemitic undercurrents spilling out of pro-Hamas networks. Universities have become test beds for this alliance: campuses where Jewish students are isolated, abused, told to answer for Israel's existence, and abandoned by staff and unions who parrot slogans reducing a living people to a colonial sin.
All the while, British institutions have shrunk from the fight. Police look for "balance" when there is none to find. Party leaders issue tepid condemnations sandwiched between affirmations of protest. Social media companies act with speed against unfashionable speech but leave posts glorifying violence against Jews to fester. The result is a culture where hate thrives, intimidation is normalised, and knives find their mark outside a synagogue.
If this continues unchecked, Jewish life in Britain will wither. Parents will hesitate before sending children to Jewish schools. Synagogues will harden behind concrete and steel. Ordinary families will live with fear as a constant companion. And Britain itself will be diminished - because a country that cannot protect its Jews is a country that has lost its moral spine.
It's time to break with cowardice. The government must draw a clear line: protests with antisemitic chants or terror glorification are not "free speech" but incitement and must be shut down. Universities tolerating Jew-baiting should lose funding until they enforce their codes. Social media must act on the high-visibility hate they let spread. And leaders who cried "genocide" must own the permission they gave to hate.
Britain stands at a crossroads: today's blood in Manchester echoes the hate we've excused - name the antisemitism, confront it, or watch the darkness spread.
"The government must draw a clear line: protests with antisemitic chants or terror glorification are not "free speech" but incitement and must be shut down."
Exactly, Paul. That's the great progressive trick - celebrate diversity from a safe distance. The loudest champions of multiculturalism always seem to live in leafy enclaves untouched by its worst consequences. No pressure on schools. No gang crime. No parallel communities. Just artisan bakeries and moral superiority.
It's easy to praise open borders when your postcode is closed off to the fallout. Harder when you're in a town where English is vanishing, grooming gangs operate with impunity, and the police are too busy celebrating "awareness weeks" to keep the streets safe.
Multiculturalism isn't beautiful when it's imposed from above. It's beautiful when it works - and that starts with control, not chaos.
Hi @Peter_Fitz - I read your column. For what it’s worth, I am not interested in trading insults. I am just curious as to why your compassion never extends to the women and girls who are genuinely affected by these issues, which exceed the parameters of sport?
You’ve painted a very one-sided picture that attracts vitriol from BOTH sides of the aisle. That you are impervious to the death threats and vile insults being hurled at women daily over their belief that the female sports category is worthy of protection, beggars belief.
Years ago, you encouraged the public to support Brittany Higgins but what of the women whose lives, religious beliefs, or experiences with sexual assault have been woven into their reasons for wanting to preserve single-sex spaces?
The lesbians, for example, who are accused of being “transphobic” and having a “genital preference” just because they are same-sex attracted?
Or the gals who just want to have fun on the basketball court without having to compete against males?
Some of the politicos and media types you slam in your piece also happen to be parents to young girls.
Most of the mothers I speak to at the local football grounds couldn’t give a stuff about the game. I could tell them that Humpty Dumpty was the coach of the Manchester City women’s side and they’d be none the wiser.
Does this make them any less qualified to care about the safety, fairness and integrity of the competition their daughters compete in?
But, according to you, we’re all just a bunch of “bastards” laughing maniacally over a glass of pinot and whipping up hatred for clicks and votes.
Is this what you’ve reduced women to?
Rage mongers, who just need to shut the hell-up or risk the ire of our friends over at Media Watch, who won’t account for those who wish to remain anonymous, or for the bureaucrats who must protect their reputations at all costs?
There’s nothing to gain for those who choose to speak out, except venom, cancellation, and the loss of their livelihood.
Your wife certainly never kowtowed to men consumed by their own arrogance but the application of your double-standards to women who are experiencing similar, is quite astounding.
And speaking of which, let’s cut through the real nonsense here - you know what a woman is, Pete.
Come on.
You married one, who gave you three beautiful children, and eloquently shared her challenging birth story and heartbreaking experiences with miscarriages. It made so many women who encountered similar, feel seen.
Those pretending that biological reality doesn’t matter, or that the lines can be blurred, will always do so until it’s time to reproduce, or find the person you’d like to share a life of intimacy with.
All of a sudden, we know who the women are.
You’re also a former Wallaby for heaven’s sake. You were known for being a “master mauler” and given that you stand at roughly 6”7, if you decided to run full pelt at Charlotte Caslick while you were in your prime - she’d be lucky to avoid a hospital visit.
Bodies play sport and the impacts of injury occur in both the elite, and amateur levels. Just ask the NSW girl who will never play again after her leg was broken in two places by a trans-identified male. Or would you like me to drag her out in public to verify this?
Because no one ever won in the court of law based on their word against someone else’s have they?
It’s easy to adopt an issue based on compassionate grounds when you’re sitting in the comfort of your mansion, but it’s far harder to cross paths with a rape survivor, who loved playing in her local women’s hockey team, until the presence of a male in her changing room triggered her.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I defended your right to have one when it came to Australian football but choosing to flippantly glaze over girls losing spots on teams and women being forced into silence? This one’s indefensible mate.
Godspeed to you though. My door is always open to chat more.
📚 THE DEFINITE ARTICLE: To understand what went so wrong in #DoctorWHO and why everyone's yapping about it, you have to understand the word WOKE.
Now, your right wingers understand this word intuitively, immediately. They know it when they see it.
But your lefties, they need a bit of help:
Woke isn't political correctness. You are not receiving push-back for trying to create a more equal, tolerant and respectful society.
You are getting reamed because WOKE is political correctness when it is being wielded as a weapon.
And that's what I think happened to our beloved #DoctorWHO: The show was perverted, repurposed and used to hurt and to vilify, to rally and to indoctrinate.
This has been catastrophic to plot and to creative endeavour, to lore and entertainment value, but most of all it has been poisonous to the character of The Doctor himself.
Fans increasingly don't recognise him. They don't see themselves in him. How could they? He's somehow telling them that they're "fuckers" and that they should "go away".
Show-runners make on screen references to "touching grass" and #RIPDoctorWHO. They know. You can also see their staggering lack of care for fans, for the source material, and for British culture and history.
The show runners say they have to "tell a lie"... But we know that Isaac Newton was an old white man don't we? You know full well that if we cast Billie Piper as Harriet Tubman that it would be hugely disrespectful - an attack on truth, on culture and on a section of society? But WOKE isn't fair. It doesn't treat people equally, it discriminates.
With every abuse of The Doctor, with every dig at the political right, every ideological message presented as fact, and every pretence of activism, the Doctor WHO fan base has fractured, divided and shrunk.
They say "Get woke, go broke" and it's true.
The ratings dive for the show bears this out. If you target your show to an ever more select and extreme faction of the audience, the casual viewers, the long time fans and even yesterday's supporters fall away.
People don't want to be lectured, bored, manipulated or attacked by a tv show. They certainly don't want their children exposed to deeply suspect messaging, messaging that hides in the shadows, behind personal abuse like "Bigot!" and "Transphobe!" rather than shining brightly and proudly in the light.
So the show-runners write for an ever diminishing audience. And as the ideology gets more extreme, so more and more people fall out of love with the show. And here WOKE shows us it's true nature:
Woke isn't a progressive movement. It is a members club: a group that you have to swear absolute loyalty to: Hate who we hate. Love what we love. Believe what we believe.
Woke fractures and isolates and monsters detractors. It presents itself as the ONE TRUE WAY. Woke is cult-like. It has its own reality where everyone *knows* that @jk_rowling is evil, but no-one can actually explain why. It has demands: Anything less than 9/10 for an episode rating is... risky. Clear criticism is social suicide. Imagine how bad the finale "The Reality War" must have been to free so many from their usual tight smothering bondage.
Doctor WHO died because it went WOKE and woke isn't clever and it isn't moral. It isn't even likeable. Woke isn't virtue signalling any more: It's a desperate attempt not to lose favour, not to be cancelled. You have to be seen to be behaving yourself...
"They're grifters!", "They're haters!", "They're toxic".
No. They were fans just like you. And when you can't run fast enough, when you can't keep up with the treadmill of WOKE... when the ideology becomes too extreme for your conscience, then you will join them. Dropped like a stone. Dropped like a regretful de-transitioner is dropped by the groups that egged them on.
Doctor WHO is now a political lance. The show charges at its enemies and tramples those who can't keep up.
The Doctor has become a wolf in sheep's clothing. That is why the show is dead.
Wake up, woke.
We need to have a serious discussion about Victor Radley in first grade, he's not even close to carrying his weight and these young kids are giving much more then him.
@DavidCrisafulli@DavidJanetzkiMP@Energex Certainty? Energex planned to restore my power by 9.00pm tonight. As soon as that time passed, the planned restoration time changed to 12 noon tomorrow. I’m not sure that gives me much certainty.
@FOXNRL 24-16 with 15 to go and the roosters with the momentum. Huge call. Klein with an absolute shocker there. No repercussions though. Free pass as always. Shocking.
