Very emotional moment from the interview with Zelenskyy. You should watch this.
JOURNALIST: Do you miss being an actor?
ZELENSKYY:?I miss being a good father.
JOURNALIST: When your children were little, what did you tell them the most? What was the thing that you told them the most when they were small?
ZELENSKYY: I love you.
JOURNALIST: And what do you tell them now that they're older?
ZELENSKYY: Oh, I miss you.
JOURNALIST: When was the last time you cried?
ZELENSKYY: I will try to do it after our interview. No, I mean this, between us. I'm a normal man and then there are a lot of different moments, between us, almost each day, a lot of losses on the battlefield and civilians, and there are absolutely crazy attacks on our people.
And I'm just, it's… I mean, It's very difficult really, when I give orders (medals). I said about it. It's always difficult for me when I give orders (medals) to the mothers and fathers, who lost their children. In such moments, really, I often cry.
JOURNALIST: Are you a hero?
ZELENSKYY: No.
JOURNALIST: So who is your hero?
ZELENSKYY:?My hero? My children, my army, our army, and Ukrainian people. So I'm a part… I'm also a Ukrainian, so I'm a part of our nation. But now our nation, I think, that our nation is absolutely heroic.
Applebaum: What binds Russia, China, Iran and North Korea is not religion or ideology.
China is communist, Russia nationalist, Iran theocratic. What binds them is fear of liberal language: rights, rule of law, separation of powers and independent courts. 1/
It is time to end this war. But Russia’s ruler wants to keep fighting. That is why Ukrainian sanctions against this aggression are working. Last night, our drones covered a distance of about 1,000 kilometers to the St. Petersburg region – to the enemy navy’s arsenals and a base in Kronstadt. Our long-range sanctions also reached about 500 kilometers into the Krasnodar region – and hit an oil depot. These are important results of the joint efforts by warriors from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine. Russia must end its war and stop its attacks on life. Any manifestation of injustice against Ukraine will receive a just response. I thank our warriors for their precision.
@ForecasterEnten Would love to see the crosstabs on a poll that asked all three of those questions. Very likely a large overlap of respondents who believed all three.
People are concerned about paying their mortgage or rent, affording groceries and paying for gas, not about putting together a $1.8 billion fund for the President and his allies to pay whomever they wish with no legal precedent or accountability. This is adding to our national debt. If there needs to be a settlement, the administration should bring it to Congress to decide.
Former CIA Officer, Sean Wiswesser:
Meddling in American elections is one of areas American public and our allies don’t understand how Russian intelligence services operate.
Their goal is to get Americans to do, what we’ve done since 2016: fight and argue with each other.
Goal is to create disunity, discord, and animosity among Americans.
Fundamentally, their goal in meddling in our elections is to undermine our entire democracy.
. @MaxBoot makes solid points in today's @washingtonpost about the Navy Secretary's firing & the battleship program. The Iowa-class battleships were impressive — you should tour one. But they are museums for a reason. In the age of drone swarms, hypersonic missiles, and stealthy submarines, concentrating firepower in a handful of enormous, expensive, and easily targeted platforms is the wrong direction. The "Golden Fleet" sounds good. Distributed firepower across many smaller, faster, unmanned platforms is a better strategy. https://t.co/ClTV0ashSL
On just one night this week, Russia sent nearly 700 drones and dozens of missiles at Ukrainian civilians. In the 5th year of the war, aerial attacks on Ukrainian civilians have become even more intense and more frequent. Please join me in this campaign for air defense equipment. You can help save lives.

Republican Senator Roger Wicker, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee:
“The freedom-loving people of Hungary have voted decisively in favor of democracy and the rule of law. I congratulate them and Péter Magyar, the next prime minister of Hungary. They’ve rejected the malign influence of Vladimir Putin, the world’s most malicious dictator, and decided their own future.”
Viktor Orban wants Hungarians to re-elect him, even though he has turned Hungary into the most corrupt and one of the poorest countries in the EU. To do so, he is telling Hungarians to fear sabotage, thievery, or even a military attack from … Ukraine
