On 17 September 2024 he picked up his father’s pager after it made an unusual buzzing sound. The device exploded in his hands/face. He lost his right eye, suffered damage to the left eye, had teeth and the tip of his nose blown off, and lost parts of fingers on both hands. His father was a Hezbollah member; the boy himself was in the group’s youth scouts.
