Dear believers, let me explain what I have been doing, in case the algorithm brings this tweet to you.

For so long, many teachings have been preached that are simply not the Gospel. It has become so bad that many believers don't even know what the true Gospel is.

Why?

Because we have recycled sermons that were preached even before our parents were born.

Christianity was still young in Nigeria then. Not many people were educated, and even some of the few who were simply preached the Bible as they saw it, without rightly dividing the Word.

Many had zeal. They had a burning passion for God. But in their zeal, they overdid things and crossed the line of Sola Scriptura, even while claiming to believe it.

There was little attention to progressive revelation, the intent of the writer, the purpose of a text, its audience, context, and how Scripture finds its fulfilment in Christ.

Instead, everything was placed on “the Holy Spirit told me.”

Any rhema became the Holy Spirit.

But the Holy Spirit cannot contradict the finished work of Christ!

They taught us that we “give our lives to Christ” during confession. So it became convenient to teach that you could “take your life back,” lose salvation, and then come back to “give your life to Christ again.”

But Scripture says we were DEAD in sins and trespasses!

We had no life to give Him.

CHRIST GAVE US HIS LIFE!

They over-magnified the devil until they made a caricature of the believer's authority in Christ, prayer points, dreams and interpretation etc

They taught that if you don't dream, your spiritual life is under attack when the New Covenant never teaches believers to build their spiritual lives around dreams.

And there are so many other things.

So what are we doing?

2 Corinthians 10:5.

We are CASTING DOWN STRONGHOLDS and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.

So, in case you see the fights, debates, and arguments, understand that we are dealing with deeply rooted mindsets.

If you believe a lie for so long, that lie eventually becomes “truth” to you.

And when the actual truth comes, you may fight it because it threatens everything you have always believed.

So yes! Beeni! Ezioku!

WE ARE CASTING DOWN STRONGHOLDS.

Not people.

MINDSETS.

Until Christ is seen clearly and the Gospel is preached as the Gospel.
