Hearing the New Jersey Devils made what they feel was a strong first offer to Vancouver on Quinn Hughes but it didn’t generate enough traction obviously
The New Jersey Devils have provided the following medical update:
“New Jersey Devils C Jack Hughes underwent successful surgery on his finger.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Robert Hotchkiss at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
The expected return to play timeline is eight weeks and he will be re-evaluated at the six-week mark.”
Devastating news—far too young.
Ray Shero drafted Hughes, Hischier, and Bratt, and mentored Fitzgerald. If this Devils team ever wins a Cup, his fingerprints will be all over it.
RIP
#NEWS: Jack Hughes underwent shoulder surgery earlier today and will be placed on long-term injured reserve (LTIR).
Jack is expected to make a full recovery and be available for training camp.

@BillSpaulding I haven’t seen anyone talking about it but it seems very very likely Bratt will break the franchise single season assist record currently held by Stevens.
@daniel_amoia They will not have an extra player. Theodore got injured in game one. When Makar became ill that put them below 6 D allowing them to call up an emergency D. Harley is essentially a Theodore replacement.
