@FlamesNation The dude had 21 goals as a 16yo in the WHL (Royals). Then he goes to the NCAA and retains 80% of his PPG pace from the previous season in the WHL.
Normal CHL-to-NCAA retention is 60%.
McKenna was 50%.
Reschny was 65%.
Both Reschny and Verhoeff went from Victoria to UND.
@covie_93@atrupar Are you sure there is no sunlight in the winter time? I know it is June now but… I have these memories of a sun in the sky in December too. Maybe I am wrong…
@davedubbin85 Thanks for sharing.
If I was Conroy, I would wait at #6. Either Carels or Verhoeff will fall to you.
Then use those extra 2nd round picks to trade up into the first round and select the Rucks.
100-point WHL players usually go top-10. The Flames analytic department will see them
@Clarkian1900 lol
The irony is: political movements which run on ill intentions, hate & lies - often have dysfunctional leadership. It’s hard to organize a group where each member believes something uniquely crazy. The leadership is often the most crazy or the most criminal. The movement dies.
@AdamMacVicar@RyanNPike lol
That bowl is about to become a swimming pool.
Cross your fingers that the rivers hold all that water this week. The rain might stop today, but rivers capture a large area. There is a drainage delay.
@BlastyProspects No way Chicago looks at Stenberg on the board … and then trades away the pick.
If Conroy believes in that scenario, he need to get the 4th overall pick BEFORE Stenberg drops.
@benchrates There is one Mason McTavish defensive play that will live forever as one of the greatest defensive hockey highlights of all time. https://t.co/L1XbxU8IMm
@evil_Jdubs@FridgeHN1C This decision isn’t just about Cooley.
Conroy probably would trade any asset for a second round pick.
But the relevant question is:
Is Owen Say, Asrneii Sergeev or Kirill
Zarubin ready for the NHL?
The answer right now is ‘No, they struggled in the AHL in 25-26.’ Cooley stays
@NHLRumourReport The canes (lead by Rod Brindamour) are a relentless forchecking and puck possession team.
The canes (built by Eric Tulsky) are a zone entry and puck possession team.
Rantanen checks all of Tulsky’s boxes, but he does not check all of Brindamours boxes.
@Scott_Snowden80 I think the Ducks want more.
McTavish is a year younger than Zary and has twice the offensive production. He could still be a 1C on a team. Zary has reached his ceiling on the 3rd or 4th line.
Mid 2nd rnd pick - worth 100 NHL games
Late 1st rnd pick - worth 150 NHL games
@SamTab1048995@evil_Jdubs When Chris MacFarland was in this situation with Mikko Rantanen - he traded him in January. He didn’t like Mikko go to free agency.
Either Makar resigns with the avalanche, this summer, or his rights are being traded. Maybe just as a rental.
@evil_Jdubs What is interesting to me, is that that Makar (27) is one of the youngest players on the avalanches roster. Jack Durry (26). Is the youngest. Their team’s average age is 30.3.
Soon this roster will fall off a cliff. They have no youth, no prospects, no secondary wave of talent.
