Four fucking years we implored @mddems & @PenaMelnykforMD to step up & prevent Donald Trump ordering Marylands Guard to combat with Iran...
Now, they Guard has spent months directly in the line of fire & @iamwesmoore has the gall to bitch about it after the horse left the barn.
Wes Moore had a 4 chances to pass defend the guard.
He was specifically warned that it would help prevent Marylands Guard being sent to war with Iran.
Now the 175th Wing is on bases under attack, all talk.

@iamwesmoore As a veteran, someone that “supposedly cares” about veterans, you could have supported and advocated for the passage of Defend The Guard this recent legislative session in Maryland…. @DTGMaryland but you didn’t sooo…….
This is exactly right. @iamwesmoore if you care about the troops, help keep our Guard where it belongs, serving Maryland. Tell your lackeys in the House of Delegates to get on board this year with @DefendTheGuard. Otherwise, your comments on war are empty, just like Trump's
“If Maryland Republicans are serious about lowering costs, they should pick up the phone and call Donald Trump and tell him to end this missionless war — instead of asking Maryland taxpayers to help pay for it,” @ammarmufasa & @GovWesMoore
If youre serious you can push Hb1319
Vermont is now experiencing what @DefendTheGuard activists across the country have faced for years.
When the establishment doesn’t like a bill, they don’t debate it, they bury it. Chairman’s privilege. Desk drawer. No hearing. No vote.
All to avoid admitting the truth: Congress has surrendered its war powers.
Welcome to the fight @theactioncorps and the principled voters of Vermont.
This isn’t left vs. right. It’s about whether the People still have representation in Washington.
If not now, when? If not us, who?
Want to force the government to listen?
Enlist to help pass @DefendTheGuard and tell Washington that either Congress votes to declare war or our National Guard will NOT fight their unconstitutional wars.

During Scott Brown’s time in the Senate (2010–2013), Americans were already under attack:
- Iran’s Quds Force plot (2011) in Washington, D.C.
- Iran-backed militias in Iraq killing U.S. troops with EFP bombs
- Hezbollah terror attacks abroad
So if Iran has been an “imminent threat” for decades, why didn’t Senator Brown introduce a declaration of war when he had the chance?
Were you neglecting your constitutional duty then…
or was that Freudian slip the truth?
Because it looks like Congress is too chickenshit to put their own names on war and would rather let the President own it.
Our Chairman @DanMcKnight30 asked a simple question about war powers to a former and possibly future United States Senator.
He fumbled the answer, misquoted the Constitution, called it a “Freudian slip” (meaning he said the quiet part out loud), and then admitted Congress doesn’t have the stones to declare war and own that decision.
They’d rather send Americans to fight and die while they hide behind the President’s authority.
That’s not constitutional government.
That’s cowardice.
@CNSmd Bear in mind that a pre-planned deployment of the Maryland Air National Guard to CENTCOM is in the works
“Some of our Wing staff are scheduled to be deployed in FY 2026,”the 175th Wing will instead be deploying as part of a Expeditionary Air Base team

@WTOP There is an effort to keep Maryland's Guard out of undeclared war in Iran. The #defendtheguard hearing was March 5th in #mdga26 https://t.co/HTJhYbIaLo

Contact your state level representatives and ask them to sponsor the #defendtheguard act. Taking the guard out of the endless wars will force congress to rethink foreign policy.
Our Chairman @DanMcKnight30 addresses submitted objections to @DefendTheGuard in Maryland by the opposition (who did not even bother to show up today).
