🤯MASSIVE coronary aneurysm and fistula- how to repair- COILS

🆒Here is a super cool case from the Journal of Invasive Cardiology by Felix Maverick et al demonstrating 2 large aneurysms within the coronary system, arising from the left anterior descending artery and involving the pulmonary artery via a fistula. This patient had significant symptoms of heart failure, and was turned down for surgery. Due to this, the operator engaged the coronary system with a guide catheter and wired the septal feeder artery from the LAD with a 0.014 guide wire and micro catheter. The aneurysms were then wired and coil embolization was performed with 34 Medtronic Concerto helix coils. The patient was followed up at six months with CTA and did well with exclusion of the aneurysms. This demonstrates a unique transcatheter way to close coronary artery aneurysms which previously could only be done with open surgical repair.
