Thank you @DemeterVet for delivering an awesome lunch talk about the day in the life of a swine veterinarian. The OVC food animal club members enjoyed hearing your insights and very much appreciated the sponsored lunch! 🐷
Thank you to the @OntCowDocs for having me yesterday. I had such a great time presenting my MSc research on veterinarian and food-animal producer communication to a room of amazing cow docs. 😊🐮
As summer comes to an end, so does my time with some awesome coworkers! Thanks for all you have done, can’t wait to have you back! Good luck in school, nerds 🤓🐷
@cow_vet@OntVetCollege@msuvets I so enjoyed having you as an instructor in phase 1 this past year. Good luck at your new position Dr. Gordon! OVC will miss you!
i’m so tired of abortion rights being framed around truly tragic circumstances like assault and incest. if you get pregnant & you don’t want to be pregnant, it is your right over your own body that is under siege. no one, including a fetus, can use your body against your consent.
🧵 Hi. I’m an MFM physician. Here is a list of women I took care of who chose to end their pregnancy
🔺Fetal chromosomal abnormalities
🔺Complex fetal heart defect
🔺Hydrops fetalis (heart failure in the fetus)
🔺Skeletal dysplasia
It can take vaccinated ppl up to 4 days after symptoms first appear before they test positive. Please isolate if you have ANY symptoms, and test using the oral-nasal method for greatest sensitivity. Let’s take care of each other, since government won’t. https://t.co/olJPIVlTlu
COVID is mainly transmitted through aerosols which linger in the air and NOT droplets which fall to the ground fast (w/in 6 ft). Aerosols can build up in a poorly ventilated room like cigarette smoke. This means everyone sharing the same indoor air can be exposed and infected.
Next Monday, I’m entering my first round of exams as a veterinary student. 13 exams in three weeks (all but one are cumulative, content began in September 😬). I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’m going to make it to the end of April with my sanity, and here’s my game plan:
And at the end of the day, I’m reminding myself, being a veterinarian is a life long learning process. My first year exams will not predict my future career success and I will continue to learn and grow.
Good luck to everyone in exam season! Control the controllable. 💕
4) I ordered Hello Fresh for the month to ensure I’m taking time to cook and not eating takeout
5) I’m treating myself to all the Starbucks iced coffee 🥰
Learning to live with covid should be: masking, vax/booster campaigns, paid sick days, ventilation, access to testing, free RATs. What gov't has decided learning to live with covid is: let people die, let HCW continue to bear the brunt, have millions of ppl suffer with #LongCovid
Trying to imagine March 2022 me explaining to March 2020 me that the pandemic would still be raging and how absolutely ridiculous the mismanagement of the pandemic would become.
I wish the "We'll all get COVID" people would be more specific. Like,
V% of us will have debilitating chronic fatigue
W% of us will have heart disease or strokes
X% of us will experience brain shrinkage
Y% of us will become diabetic
Z% of us will suffer cognitive impairment
