The people deserve their leaders.
In what world would I queue to vote for such a person?
Unless I am a fool, as he calls the electorates.
Only a fool votes for A-Plus as MP!
These are the same flooding issues that occurred under your leadership from 2012 to 2016. You did nothing. Today, in 2026, they are still killing people, and you’re in a helicopter to see what? Man, you’re lazy. Get to work. People are dying because of your failed leadership.
President’s Mahama’s first official political post was in 1996, when he was elected to the Parliament of Ghana to represent the Bole/Bamboi Constituency.
Sir you’ve been an active leader since then and know the flooding crisis is a year in regular crisis that can severely be mitigated by joint human and government effort.
Sir President, the June 3 disaster in 2015, when you were Vice, shows us that we were even lucky today to have faced such extreme rainfall without any mass disasters but quite a number of unfortunate deaths (not comparable to June 3).
However the point remains;
If it is clear that Government can remove all the structures in waterways and the flooding will stop, unless the rainfall is unusually extreme, then why has government failed to do so in its legacy term? Yes you can blame the resistance of the people but the law is clear that the government has the power to demolish in the public interest. So it seems the government sometimes hesitate either because they don’t want to lose political points or that the people who build in these areas are their financiers?
Also why have there have been a lot of expensive dredging projects since your first term 12 years ago with nothing to show for it?
Government shouldn’t blame the people when you’re the Head of the Ghana Armed Forces and all National security agencies to enforce sanitation standards, ensure accountability in dredging projects, refuse permits and prevent building on waterways or drainage systems and punishing those who dump refuse in gutters.
The actions of the people are a reflection of a failing government. Good example is when we see videos of people dumping refuse in gutters but there’s no public announcement that these people were arrested and jailed for that. So it’s clear no one is stopping them unlike better countries like China where these people would’ve been severely punished and shamed to serve as a detriment to others; and we would’ve been glad if these people faced the consequences but innocent children are dying, innocent Ghanaians are dying and innocent workers who pay taxes are losing their cars and properties because you’re not enforcing the laws against Ghanaians who breach them.
It’s the same government officials who are bribed to turn a blind eye to construction projects on waterways and that’s why these wrongdoers can resist the demolition because they know it’s just a weak temporal redress.
Let’s do well in the legacy term to address the core root of this flooding issue. Let’s imagine ourselves to be a developed country like China or the USA and imagine how their government would’ve addressed this flooding issue because we all know the truth; that if China or USA was encountering this problem since 2000 and faced the June 3 2015 disaster, the folding issue would’ve been immediately addressed from the core and eradicated. It wouldn’t be a blame game between the people and the government.
And so what?
Why is he telling us?
So we do what?
If he cannot proactively, as a president, ensure that his appointed officers regulate such basic things as the dumping of refuse, he should resign!
No president should make a habit of complaining to citizens when preventable wrongdoings are determined.
The government exists essentially to prevent the people from taking society into their own hands!
The most interesting subject I have seen people explored about this flooding issue is ‘move the capital from Accra’.
You guys are university graduates, sometimes dig deep into your analytical process.
They put in more effort to shoot and edit this video than they have put into tackling the flooding since their last helicopter ride.
PR must PR even when y'all are drowning 🥹
Some people are seeing their MP for the first time this year because their area is flooded. They will roam in boots, take pictures, fanfool you, and go back to enjoying life in their mansions.😂😂😂😂😂😂
A lot of people have died today because Akufo Addo and his members took GH¢4,410,000,000.00 of your money that was meant to fix this flooding issue, and Mahama and his members promised to make them account for that money but never did. When you pray, pray against the Satan you know and keep them away from you.
From June 3 2015-29 June 2026 is 11 fucking years…One problem in this country is that we give platforms to people without the expertise to lead important conversations. During major issues like floods, journalists turn to political commentators instead of engineers, planners, and experts who understand the problem. The quality of our national conversations shapes the quality of solutions we demand.
Watch how politicians will be moving from one media house to another tomorrow, talking endlessly about the floods, yet the real experts with solutions will be ignored. Our national conversations must move from politics to competence na gyimie no y3 too much aahh😭😭😭
