Donald Trump’s 100,000 H-1B fee will choke U.S. innovation, and turbocharge India’s. By slamming the door on global talent, America pushes the next wave of labs, patents, innovation and startups to Bangalore and Hyderabad, Pune and Gurgaon . India’s finest Doctors, engineers, scientists, innovators have an opportunity to contribute to India’s growth & progress towards #ViksitBharat. America’s loss will be India’s gain.
The reason I’m in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B.
Take a big step back and FUCK YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on this issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend.
Good morning Bengaluru.
In February 2025, BMRCL increased #NammaMetro fares by a whopping 130% citing recommendations of the Fare Fixation Committee. After my appeal in Parliament & public outrage, they were forced to reduce it to 71%.
Despite demands for the release of the FFC Report, BMRCL failed to do so, compelling me to approach the Hon'ble High Court.
Conveniently, a day before the Hon’ble High Court was set to hear my Writ Petition & 7 months after the steep fake hike, BMRCL has published the FFC report on their website.
In its objections before the Hon’ble High Court, BMRCL had categorically stated that it received approval of GoK on July 16 for releasing the report. Yet, it took them almost two months to upload it. One can only imagine the speed at which this institution is functioning in all spheres.
However, here are some interesting findings:
1. It was BMRCL which proposed a fare revision of 105% citing mounting loses.
2. FFC recommended a 51.55% hike spread over 7.5 years. This meant an annual increase of about 6.87%, which it said was far more reasonable.
3. The new fares were fixed at ₹10 for up to 2 km, and a maximum of ₹90 for journeys above 25 km.
4. The committee stressed the need to balance affordability for passengers with BMRCL’s long-term viability.
5. It also suggested discounts on Sundays and national holidays, and set a formula for yearly automatic hikes.
Glad that the report is now finally in public domain.
Unfortunately, it took 7 months, multiple interventions at various levels, including approaching the Hon'ble High Court of Karnataka for BMRCL to display accountability & transparency.

Remember the good old days when Bengaluru autos ran by the meter?
@NagaraAuto is bringing that back. With their app, you can hail an auto that charges only the meter fare with no hidden costs & no commission. The fare on the meter is what you pay directly to the driver.
Their fleet is easy to spot - each auto carries a special marker on top that lights up after dark, making them instantly recognisable.
A wonderful initiative by youngsters @NiruAradhyan and @Shivanna1123, this app is particularly significant in improving the first and last mile connectivity to metro stations for commuters.
Wishing them the best.

Hebbal Road was a nightmare this morning. On my way to Delhi this morning to attend Parliament, I was stuck at Hebbal Junction for nearly 50 minutes along with thousands of people and almost missed my flight.
All because the state government chose a Monday morning peak hours as the appropriate time for the flyover inauguration program.
A long weekend was just behind us - they could easily have picked a time with minimal disruption.
But the last thing ever considered is the comfort of commuters. Neither in project design nor in inauguration planning is the public kept in mind. It’s always for the politicians, by the politicians.

When the government looks down upon grocery delivery, they aren't thinking 10 years ahead
India's deep tech innovation will come precisely from founders who built food and goods delivery
The markets are finally correcting. Given that markets swing between extremes, they can fall more just like they rose to the peak.
I've no idea where the markets go from here, but I can tell you about the broking industry. We are seeing a massive drop in terms of both the number of traders and volumes.
Here is the trading volume chart. Across brokers, there's a more than 30% drop in activity. Combined with the true-to-market circular, we are seeing degrowth in the business for the first time since we started 15 years ago.
This drying up of volumes shows how shallow the Indian markets still are. The activity is more or less among those 1-2 crore Indians.
By the way, if this continues, the government will not make even Rs 40000 cr from STT in FY 25/26, at least 50% below the Rs 80,000 cr estimate.
