@chatswithem Meanwhile, the UK uses more renewable energy than fossil fuels. Besides, why do you think North Sea Oil would be used in the UK? Thats not how it works. Not least of all because almost no British companies want to expand in the North Sea due to costs.
@KAunkwn@IronyKumar@benwehrman Why are you deflecting? I asked you to show me qa single authoritative source that says that the sea level has increased more than 25cm in that location in the last 120+ years. You said that "they exacerbate to be a lot higher". Prove it. I say you can't and can only deflect.
@Gen_X_Oddy@FELibrary_ If youre actually interested in Ptolomy, read Almagest, he detailed how a spherical Earth naturally causes changes in visible constellations as one travels north or south.
@Gen_X_Oddy@FELibrary_ Sure! Its a 18th c reproduction of an ancient map from ad150. It was made by Ptolomy, who knew the earth was a globe 2000 ysars ago. The lines are rivers. Not tunnels or underground rivers. Its one of the first attempts to use lines of longitude and lattitude on a map.
@KAunkwn@IronyKumar@benwehrman Prove it. I cant find a single source saying the sea level change in Rio has been any more than 25cm in that time frame. Go on, show us the authority that says its more. I challenge you.
@FELibrary_ LOL. That painting was unveiled in 2013 to celebrate the univerisity's bicentennial and the artist who painted said "The visual layout is a direct metaphor representing the dome of human knowledge being expanded through public education, research, and open literacy"
@FootDolphin@TheGlobeIsDead Dude, I'm on your side. I agree with you. I'm pointing out that if the earth was really flat we wouldn't need to use OTH tech to compensate for curvature.
@sashuwa77246 Except that the horizon is mathematically determinable in a way that only works if the earth is round. Radio hams encounter this maths and globe earth on a regular basis.
@TheGlobeIsDead It doesn't work on a ball. Thats the point. Normal radar does not work over the horizon. Normal radar signals travel in straight lines and don't bounce. There is over the horizon radar, but its barely reliable because of the physics.
@FootDolphin@TheGlobeIsDead Yup, literally nobody who understands radar thinks it works on a ball. Why would this exist if it did? https://t.co/sxPvLsIl8I
@history_hacked I do apologise, its actually this door. There are only two tall externally facing doors on Palazzo Altieri and they are both on ground floor.
