My Account of What Happened to the Osun State Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Teslim Igbalaye
My name is Rt. Hon. Adewale Olumide Egbedun, Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly.
The abuse of power by the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Gotan, should be a source of concern and embarrassment to every patriotic Nigerian.
The Deputy Governor, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and I were all present at the INEC Stakeholders' Meeting, where we sat together throughout the proceedings.
We all witnessed the unfortunate moment when Commissioner Gotan was booed while on the podium by citizens of Osun State. Immediately he returned to his seat, he looked directly towards us. At that moment, the SSG laughed.
The next thing I observed was Commissioner Gotan picking up his telephone and making a series of calls. From what I saw, I turned to the SSG and said, "The Commissioner of Police has just ordered your arrest."
A few minutes later, the SSG received a telephone call informing him that police officers were waiting for him at his residence. He immediately stood up and left the event, leaving the Deputy Governor and me behind.
Some minutes later, I contacted him to find out what had happened. He informed me that he had been invited to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) because the police allegedly recovered N4 million and two voter cards belonging to members of his political party who were holding a meeting within his compound. I honestly do not understand how such an allegation justified inviting, or attempting to arrest, a public official of his standing.
Permit me to also recount a personal experience I had with Commissioner Gotan so that the public can better understand my concerns.
At one point, we received credible intelligence that some APC thugs were planning to attack my residence. My security personnel and I remained on high alert in anticipation of the attack. However, to my greatest surprise, my police orderly received a call from Commissioner Gotan directing that every police officer attached to me should report to his office for questioning that very day.
I immediately telephoned the Commissioner and told him that I am a proud son of Onikoyi, and that I neither fear nor bow to intimidation. I made it abundantly clear that I would never abandon my state or my ancestral home because of anyone, particularly someone I regard as a stranger. I also reminded him that, ultimately, every act of wrongdoing attracts its own consequences.
In my view, Commissioner Gotan and some officers under his command have caused significant disruption in Osun State, and I sincerely believe he does not deserve to continue serving in our dear state. For the past two weeks, I have received information suggesting that some of his officers have been moving around, allegedly planning and strategising on how to implicate and arrest me.
Indeed, many people have advised me to leave Osun State or vacate my residence for my own safety. However, I have consistently maintained that I will not abandon Osun for anyone. If those behind these alleged plans decide to carry them out, I remain resolute in my belief that justice will ultimately prevail and that evil will never triumph over righteousness.
I, therefore, make a sincere appeal to the Inspector General of Police to urgently intervene and relieve the people of Osun State of what I consider the hardship and intimidation they have endured under the leadership of Commissioner Ibrahim Gotan. The people of Osun are peaceful, law-abiding citizens who deserve policing that is professional, impartial and respectful of the rule of law.
Exodus 21:10 (Law of Moses): If a man takes a second wife, he must still provide for the first, no prohibition.
Deuteronomy 17:17: Kings are warned not to multiply wives excessively (for political reasons), not that having more than one is inherently sinful.
2 Samuel 12:8: God Himself tells David through Nathan that He gave him Saul’s wives, if polygamy were sin, God wouldn’t have done that.
A woman can love you today, and be a complete stranger to you tomorrow.
She can be with you for over 5 years and leave you for a man she met last night.
She will leave you if she ever gets the idea that she's better than you.
MEN PUT YOUR HEAR DOWN. ✌🏽️
Stop dating broke women. stop helping struggling women. stop loving women at their lowest. stop feeling pity for a woman who can't make a living for themselves.
Women don't look back after finding themselves.🤌🏼💯
Your wife has the capacity to cheat on you, and she will do it smoothly without you even knowing.
But she's not doing it because she needs the chiidren to grow up under their father in peace.
If you're a careless cheating husband & you think that your wife is perpetually stupid or ignorant, you'll suffer badly in your old age.
She will use you to raise your children and would wait till they're fully independent.
Your children will not abandon her.
She'll enjoy your sweat while you suffer.
And she go use your eyes do whhheeeeen.
End.
Neverrrrrrrr disrespect a man when he is at his lowest. A man never forgets disrespect. It’s either buried deep in his heart or used as revenge but never forgotten.
I just read that government officials took 2 bags of rice to the family of beheaded teacher in Oyo state. Hmmmm. Two bags of rice to compensate for human life.
Bro, Tinubu's government is satanic.
Breaking News: President Tinubu was Asked Today, What is your message to Nigerians about the Issue of Insecurity, he responded : “Issue of insecurity, that is the lawf, that is the obedience of law” 😭😭😭😭
This VDM needs to face the weight of the law for being the conveyor and disseminator of a fake audio of President Tinubu. This is a clear case of an egregious abuse of the social media platform.
@aonanuga1956 This is the original video, but APC propagandaists have deliberately manipulated and edited it to alter the narrative. Shameful. Shame on you Uncle Bayo
Yesterday, it was reported that more than four Ugandans lost their lives while celebrating @Arsenal Premier League triumph after 22 years.
Why do some of you celebrate in such a reckless manner? Football is meant to bring joy, not cost lives. Now families are grieving, lives have been lost, and the club itself is not even aware of what happened.
Be responsible when celebrating. No football victory is worth losing your life over.
Here is the tiktoker Abdul Aminu Gwaska, a native of Zamfara State, who acts as the head of a dangerous mining syndicate currently expanding its footprint across Ilesha. The documented evidence reveals that he coordinates multiple high intensity illegal mining sites by actively recruiting a massive influx of external laborers to carry out the physical excavation and processing of gold.
To fuel this operation, his syndicate even utilizes a digital recruitment and sales infrastructure, providing a direct link for individuals to submit their personal information to join the illicit trade or purchase their illegal products.
Furthermore, intelligence shows that Aminu is actively collaborating with local village heads and traditional chiefs, who welcome and house these illegal miners within the community. This high level collusion grants his syndicate a social shield, effectively protecting their activities from accountability while they systematically destroy farmlands and pollute vital water bodies.
If this dangerous partnership between illegal miners and local leadership is allowed to persist, it will inevitably lead to a total security breach. The Osun State government must take immediate and decisive action to dismantle this network before this deep-seated collaboration spirals into an uncontrollable regional crisis
