@rishie_ Benedict Carey's 'How we learn' may help (particularly Chapter 4). I remember there was some evidence that distributed learning ('spacing effect') helps improve learning outcomes for students.
@Rob_Briner Such a downer, Rob! From my teaching at QMUL, I found that attendance is high (70 to 80%) only when there's an assessment element (group work, course participation) linked to class. Otherwise (many) students seem to schedule in part-time work #CostOfLivingCrisis
This Valetine's Day, I successfully defended my PhD and passed with no corrections. The viva was a dream come true - a truly beautiful ending.
Thanks to my examiners, fabulous supervisors, and everyone else who's supported me at @sbmqmul@QMUL_CRED#PhDone#PhDchat#PhDLife
@nilanjanab Please be kind to yourself.
Anxiety and depression are soul-destroying. If the pills make you feel even a teensy bit better, it's a small win for now. You've got this! :)
@pallaviaiyar Grew up reading Enid Blyton in the 2000s. I loved how the protagonists were young girls living adventurous, fun lives. The Baby-Sitters Club by Ann M Martin was another pre-teen favourite :')
