Hi Tweeps! We’ve decided to leave Twitter to focus on building our LinkedIn and Mastodon accounts. Come find us there and continue talking all things GIS, ecology, and software :)
Job alert 🚨 Come and work at Environment & Climate Change Canada! There are some great people doing some great things but we are missing you! https://t.co/veb3i3ZyLE
In his spare time, Alex enjoys hiking or canoeing around the outdoors, especially with his Australian Shepherd. He has also recently taken an interest in rock climbing.
Team member spotlight! @ecofilazola is a data scientist and computational ecologist working on creating tools that improve our ability to answer ecological questions. He is a relatively recent hire with ApexRMS starting earlier this year in April
Alex is looking to advance his web-design skills by becoming more familiar with the Javascript ecosystem, especially application deployment using Docker. He is also interested in improving his Python capabilities with the goal to use it in an upcoming project.

We're exciting to be officially releasing the BurnP3 package for #Syncrosim in collaboration with the Canaidan Forest Service.
We had a great workshop and demo at #WFCC22 in late October and are happy to be sharing the package widely!

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time outside, being active, and visual arts – this currently looks like indoor bouldering, a little bit of yoga, and life drawing.
Employee spotlight!
@SarahChisholm3 is a spatial ecologist that transforms data products into meaningful landscape forecasts for a variety of ecology and conservation questions.
Having recently finished her MSc from @uOttawa she has been with us for a year
After a long break from python, Sarah's excited to be picking this coding language back up and expanding my data manipulation skills outside of R. She is also enjoying learning about the science that underlies the different types of models in the projects I’m involved in.
from bench to boardroom (and everywhere in between), you’re working on the next breakthrough. And we’re there, every step of the way. It’s that simple. 🤝
Successfully defended my MSc thesis yesterday. This is the moment I found out I passed. Thanks @olga_ecology for capturing this memorable moment. Feeling proud of myself. @uOttawa
Come work with me (and the amazing Shiny team) at @posit_pbc (formerly @rstudio) on the next generation of Shiny for R!
