Today is day one of the Communications Skills-Strengthening Workshop and we are excited to join fellow advocates, communicators and child protection champions from across East Africa in critical conversations on ending child sexual violence.
The focus is on the power of narratives; understanding the stories that shape public perceptions, identifying dominant narratives around child sexual violence, and exploring how we can build new, affirmative narratives that inspire action and drive change.
We recognize that communication is more than sharing information; it is about amplifying the voices of survivors, children, families and communities whose experiences must be heard.
The stories we tell have the power to challenge harmful norms, influence policies and mobilize collective action toward a safer world for every child.
We look forward to learning, sharing experiences and strengthening our capacity to communicate for impact over the next few days.

Child rights actors converge in Nairobi- Kenya for a 3 days workshop on narrative shaping to prevent child sexual violence in Africa. #Children#sexualviolence#SexualAbuse
From local communities to regional conversations. Team Uganda is bringing grassroots voices to the table at the Communications Skills-Strengthening Workshop in Nairobi.
Every story represents children, survivors, families and communities working towards a future free from child sexual violence.
As advocates, we understand that lasting change begins when those closest to the issues are heard, valued and included in shaping solutions.
Over the coming days, we will engage with fellow changemakers from across Africa, exploring how strategic communications and powerful narratives can challenge harmful norms, inspire action and strengthen child protection efforts.
Because the voices of the communities we serve matter and they deserve to be at the center of every conversation about change.
We remain committed to the mission to #EndChildhoodSexualViolence
