#870 EdTechCreativity Computer music systems and approaches are now ubiquitous, and perform very sophisticated audio synthesis using a wide variety of algorithms and approaches. (Lee and Chen, 2013) Common application for K-12, university students or professional mainly? Opp?
@natmak1118 Nice! See #dungeonsanddragons and similar RPGs teaching concepts e.g health, damage, vitality are learned/taught by kids in order to be effective in playing games which provides foundational literacy support through #individualizedlearning#differentiatedlearning
#870 EdTechNewLiteracy Linkages between Creativity in the form of digi game constr using digi platforms such as Microworld (Lee and Chen, 2013) and NMLS incorporation of “lucidly functional language” supporting “literacy” in kids e.g. Yu-Gi-Oh! cards (Gee, 2010) Any thoughts?

@natmak1118 Similar problems with employees clicking through annual mandatory training to “get done”. Games offer rewards, engage and require higher order thinking to be effective and compete against peers on leaderboards for instance. #games807
@natmak1118 Agree! Adding emotional connection to a rote exercise like additition and subtraction could drive a feedback loop to increase time spent on the “rote” exercise ultimately resulting in better performance during assessments.
@natmak1118 Focused higher order thinking driving creativity will cause students to recognize that innocuous everyday objects like a typical chair can be married with new tech like #arduino pressure sensors to give the chair a second purpose as a scale for measuring weight.
@almostreality7 Yeah..that's a problem. It seems to stay bottled up and used just by scholars, researchers and business people...in reports...it should be pushed out in manageable chunks so that parents and students recognize opportunities and challenges...
@almostreality7 Agree w/your proposal that very likely needs to become one of the "basic" skills because of the wide disparities in competency both between countries and among populations in countries as identified in (Anderson and Ainley, 2010) A global measure of digital and ICT lit (2016)
