New tiny AppErgo tool: Loves me, loves me not.
Pick a virtual daisy 🌼, remove the petals, and let the final one decide.
Not every web tool has to be serious. 😄

I’m still struggling to get Googlebot to really crawl the English pages of my bilingual website.
✅hreflang/x-default
✅metadata/SEO
✅XML sitemaps
✅excellent Lighthouse scores
✅direct homepage links
✅Cloudflare
Next: an HTML sitemap in the footer.
After that ?😅

I finally enabled Cloudflare on AppErgo. With caching, the difference is impressive.
Distant locations like Tokyo or Sydney went from around 2–2.5s to under 1s.
With a warm cache, it can even drop to 0.2–0.4s. ⚡

Another #SEO lesson learned:
Most of these tools were only 2 clicks away from the homepage.
Not 3 or 4. Just 2!
But for my young website, that still seemed too deep for Googlebot. 😅
Important pages need very direct internal links.
Clean architecture, good sitemap, proper SEO basics…
Still not always enough.
For a young website, Googlebot apparently needs the obvious path with big arrows on the homepage. 🤷♂️

Update: same pattern again today.
I added 32 Codes tools to the homepage block. 1 hour later, Googlebot crawled them “all” (French version only… again).
Shortly after, they were already indexed. 😲
Homepage links really seem to matter more than I expected.

Small SEO lesson from my website:
I added direct links to some of my web tools on the homepage. Shortly after, Googlebot crawled all of them! 😲
So... homepage links > clean architecture + sitemap + excellent Lighthouse scores + all the usual good practices. 😅

Funny detail: so far, Googlebot only crawled the French version of the website.
It ignored the English pages, even though both versions share the same structure.
Server in France? No CDN? Another Google mystery. 🤔
AppErgo v0.8.7 is online: https://t.co/d71tj4UJvI
36 Codes tools have been updated. 🦉
The homepage now also links directly to the 167 most polished web tools.
Still improving the catalog step by step.

Small SEO observation from my website: Google vs Bing.
Google knows many of the pages, but mostly keeps fetching the homepage and robots.txt again and again.
Bing has already indexed 346 URLs.
#SEO
Bing has been surprisingly responsive with my website lately. It picked up my updated sitemap and quickly crawled many of the new pages.
Google fetched my sitemap, robots.txt (for the 100th time) and only 2 general category pages.
SEO patience test continues. 😅

Just checked my server logs. Bingbot picked up the EN sitemap, then crawled all 20 new web tools in one pass, plus one French version.
I wish Googlebot moved as fast as Bingbot right now. Even Baidu and SeznamBot seem more active on my website. 😅
@notskillo@IndieCurator The bandwagon effect is real, but if it doesn’t work, maybe the game was too niche or the final product just wasn’t good enough.
@IndieCurator I actually see this as partly positive : big thumbs up, “GREAT GAME” in caps, and the player clearly enjoyed it.
Of course, the refund hurts, but this kind of review can still make other players want to try the game. Some may refund too, but some won’t.
