📺 CAREER UPDATE: After 3 years at WMBF I have made the very difficult decision to leave my role as Sports Director.
It honestly feels like just yesterday when I traded in my orange for teal.
I came here fresh out of Syracuse to be a News Reporter/Weekend Sports Anchor. Then a year and a half in I had the opportunity to become Sports Director.
It was a role I never expected to take on, but I will never forget the moment my dream became a reality.
I have learned so much in both jobs and I am forever grateful for every single moment.
Covering Coastal Carolina has been an adventure unlike any other. Discovering every storyline has made me a stronger sportscaster and journalist.
The people here have truly embraced me and they were the true difference makers in this experience.
Thank you to every viewer, coach, athlete, SID, and anyone else who has been a part of this storytelling journey.
📺 My last day on air will be Friday, May 22nd and I’m cherishing every moment up until goodbye.
As for my next career step… I’m leaving TV for the time being, but I’m excited to share more about my next adventure when the time is right.
I’m ready to experience a better work-life balance along with the freedom (and support) that allows me to pursue other passions and goals of mine.
Also yes, this is me next to a pic of my very first time sports anchoring at WMBF ⬇️🥲
@NickStevensHS I get what you’re saying here. It is out of line to personally attack the official. But there are absolutely officials in all sports who are in it to make it about them not the kids. It’s not about the money for these specific ones, it’s about having the POWER of the whistle
This post got me thinking.
What is the best dive bar in Boone? Is there one? Don’t say Boone Saloon. That’s not divey anymore even though they have the cow troughs at urinals
If Kelly grew up in Philly and her defense to getting heckled by flyers fans for wearing Canes gear was “go birds” then why is she Canes over Flyers and not Panthers over Birds? @joeovies
We had a great weekend with the newly-formed App State Football Alumni Network as they made their way back to Boone for the Battle at The Rock this past weekend. After an afternoon of golf, we enjoyed a hAPPy Hour for former players and staff of App State Football. 🏈

Malachi Singleton
Purdue ➡️ Appalachian State
🔐 Breakout Watch
• Singleton should find his path as a QB1 in the #SunBelt this season for the Mountaineers. In his career he's thrown for 797 yards 6 Touchdowns 2 INTs while completing 64.1% of his passes. He's also rushed for 276 yards 4 TDs.
Curious to see how this pans out. The addition of 8 teams to the tournament has a chance to now include the hot low or mid major teams that somehow got upset during conf tourney. I’d rather see 27-6 UNCW get in now than middle of the pack p4 teams.
NCAA leadership is expected to finalize an expansion of the men’s and women’s tournaments to 76 teams soon after this year’s tournament 🏀
The proposal would add eight games to the First Four, with 24 teams playing in an opening round before advancing into the main bracket.
