@MichelleDLesley It's actually difficult to tell these days what the red herrings are versus the things that matter. It's all getting muddled. Just like the good guys & bad guys. I'm using 1 John 4:1-2 almost daily now.

@TS_Secrets We have a big family so driving saves us big time. We discovered leaving at 4:00 pm. Get a few hours in before dinner. After dinner, everyone beds down with pillows & blankets. We take turns driving. We can do a 20 hour drive (BHM - Colorado) by noon. Don't even lose a day.

@mom_of_littles Morning nap: 18 months
Afternoon nap: Enforced quiet time 1-3:00 pm until age 8 or 9. We homeschool and they could read, write, color or draw. But they usually slept until they were 5 or 6 yo. It was wonderful. The whole house was quiet for a couple hours.

@megha_lilly Of course this is the right order. But there's absolutely no reason #3 can't fit in a normal day for 15 minutes. It's that important. Also reading is a HUGE part of #1. Snuggling with mama on the couch and reading about Winnie the Pooh is hugely bonding.

@alaskanwellness @DearS_o_n Every single thing you do with a child is new. Christmas is more fun. Fireworks, roller coasters, circuses, picnics, playgrounds, parades... everything seems to have more meaning.

@fight4frogs It doesn't matter if you have 2 or 8, you can still read to them. If you read 12 high quality books a year (1 a month) or conversely a daily story time for youngers, they will learn history, science, grammar, etc. It doesn't take pushing or stressing, just enjoying good books.

@SLOTUS @SLOTUS My boys completed this program and emailed their submissions last fall. We never heard back, and they never received the small prize. I'm only mentioning it because they worked so hard to read the books and are so disappointed not to hear from you.

@musings_blonde I know this is dumb, but when this happens to me, I remind myself of the people who missed their planes on 9/11 because of traffic. God has a plan and He knows far more than we do. It makes me feel better when things don't go my way.

@rukky_nate I'd send the whole thing to Compassion International. Easy come, easy go. But after the 20 minutes, a whole bunch of kids' lives are changed.

@PsychCaptainX @creation247 @TheRobertBshow Homeschool mom of 30 years. I've noticed this too. But adversity doesn't have to come in academics. Learning can just be meaningful and relevant. The adversity needed for strength can come from the football field, farm chores, or a million other hard things.

@abbythelibb_ I had genuine panic attacks during my 5th pregnancy because of memories of pain. But God was so good, and she was born in less than an hour. It wasn't painless but the Lord gave me a unique perspective to get me through. It's okay to be scared. Just lean into the Lord.
