Illegal IUU fishing—is one of greatest threats to our oceans. It accounts for nearly 20% of the global wild-catch, draining up to $23.5 billion from global economy every year.

🐟 Today, we are participating in the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Forum in Jinja, bringing together key actors across the fish value chain.
We’ve shared insights on integrating business and human rights into fisheries value chain — from ethical procurement to labour standards and community rights — and highlighted what we do under our #WeWorkUG and #BHR projects to strengthen Uganda’s fisheries and aquaculture sector.
Through collaboration with @UfpeaUg, we continue driving sustainable, inclusive, and responsible practices.
A stronger, fairer fish value chain means better jobs, protected communities, and a thriving blue economy. 🌊🐠
