We also have to understand each country had their own nuance with regard to foreign fighters. Countries like Algeria, Syria, and Russia had an incentive to discredit their opposition.
Otherwise Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have been trying to get a hold of their domestic infrastructure of the Islamist international that took decades. King Abdullah in 2005 couldn’t just round up imams calling for jihad against Americans in Saudi Arabia unless it was absolutely necessary. Same with Pakistan. They’re just now in final shedding stage of decapitating Islamist international tentacles to make for more fertile ground for Western finance.
@DonHalfaya Alhamdulillah, despite any differences we may have had, all of my Quran teachers were well-intentioned and benefited me immensely. I cannot fathom such a breach of trust with a custodian of knowledge. It’s truly heartbreaking.
Calling them “close” allies is amateur analysis. They were against each other and only allied because they had common enemies - Assad and the Islamic State.
Zahran Alloush was backed by CIA-Saudi axis from Jordan and was not part of the Qatari-Turkish Muslim Brotherhood axis that fed Nusra Front.
@ShamiArchives Israelis aren’t playing 5D chess. Their intentions are very clear. It’s the Arabs who cope by glazing that they’re playing 5D chess like Abraham Accords apologism or resistard strategic patience. Both idiotic.
@Ula_Directorate If it’s an op, can’t rule out the UAE either.
Ever since MBZ became de facto head in 2014, he been on a rampage on behalf of the U.S. They utilize Israel for much of their dirty work.
@_The_Wub_ Darn. I was waiting on party 2. I sort of formed my own thesis based on that piece trying to connect that time period to the Cold War to 9/11. Oh well, you got plenty other pieces to keep my brain busy.
@The_Wub_ I disagree with the first sentence. Saudi Arabia could only expand to what it is today with British money and weapons. Zionism was dead in the water until Balfour. Without British conquest of Palestine, there would be no Israel.
It isn’t just weapons, it’s also drug trafficking, predatory financialization, money laundering, etc. The shadow private networks that formed during the Cold War like BCCI have entrenched themselves within our global institutions. The tragedy is that this corrupt system has metastasized so much that I don’t see any political movement with any practical strategy to dismantle it.
The negative U.S. foreign policy stems from domestic corruption driven by morally decrepit Americans. The endless conflicts we see today do not serve the interests of the American people. In fact. America’s true interest aligns with global stability. While the world benefits from the international framework the U.S. helped establish like the UN, this concentration of power has created a Catch-22. It has enabled an entrenched corrupt deep state to form alliances with corrupt foreign elites that exploits the American system and undermines the very system America built in the long run.
This is why the Military-Industrial Complex is so corrupting. It’s a cycle of massive government spending where everyone involved is on the take. Both U.S. government officials and foreign states enable these multi-billion-dollar arms deals enriching themselves at the expense of genuine security.
